  So the relationship I fucked up with a lie is totally dead, I think. Not even because of a lie. We were broken up, then as we were fixing things I lied about the most insignificant thing. She even started to seem to be coming around to me after that lie. Because I was making some significant strides in fixing me. Dont get me wrong, I'm not changing for her, I'm changing for me and my kids.   I know I've spoken of the rewards or good feelings from being a completely honest person can sometimes feel minuscule. I want to add on top of that. I am a procrastinator in recovery as well. I just made through a whole day without lying, and I also got several things on my to do list crossed off. I should have an amazing feel of accomplishment right now. However it's not there.   So I'm at the grocery store, and I'm making small talk with the clerk  She asks how things are and I tell her it's nice to get out of the house because it's so loud. She kind of gives me a please explain look, and I naturally rattle off, well my house is the gathering spot for the neighborhood. That's true, but right then only my kids were home.   i felt so amazing the first few days I gave up any form of lying. At first I was on a high, because of my ability to handle it. Now things aren't as exciting and I'm realizing the work it takes to make sure every word I speak is truthful. It's now starting to feel like work. I'm ok with putting in the effort. I just wish the result was as rewarding every time as it was the first time. I won't give up, but I just wish the rewards would still feel as intense.
