Beautiful weekend. Went backpacking at peak leaf weekend with nary a cloud in the sky. What made this extra special was that I was with one of my high school friends who I had previously lied to several years back. I understand that at the time I was doing the best I knew how! I also have come to accept how self centered and manipulative my lying was. I know I can no longer accept that behavior and have acknowledged my lies and hurt that they cause. Amends are important and when accompanied with action you can turn things around! It was good to walk with my buddy in the woods shoulder to shoulder again. Keep pounding all!!!

Hello everyone. My name is Dale and I am a compulsive liar. It has been 9 days for me now. One day at a time. I have almost slipped several times as I am getting better at learning my triggers. It is hard work and will remain so for a long time but definitely worth it to change my life and hopefully keep or get back the important people in my life by regaining their trust. I am amazed at how humbling this is to be so raw and honest. I do admit that it is easier going to sleep each night as I reflect on my day and at least I can say that I was honest with everyone today...

Hello everyone. My name is Dale and I am up to 10 days now. Daily struggle, minute by minute even. I have found so far that my ego was the main reason behind my lies. It is very difficult, but if you think about the truth being the MOST important thing and not what people will think about you, lying becomes more difficult. Then you can worry more about changing things in your life that you may be embarrassed or nor not proud of, in becoming a better person. VERY humbling to tell the truth in all occasions...

In my mind I passed a test and failed a test. 2 months ago I received a txt from an office worker who works for me. I have never ever had inappropriate interactions with this person!! Never! My fiancée suspects I have. She suspects because Iai have lied to her before! My lies have always been to cover up things I am ashamed of....watching porn in the past, why I am late, talking with my ex, I have never strayed from my relationship with my fiancée. 2 months ago I got a txt from this individual that I knew would cause issues. She had gone to check on my Dad because a visiting nurse service fell through that she was setting up to do dressing changes. Dad is 94. So like an idiot I deleted that txt. But being iPhone illiterate I deleted every txt she had ever sent and I knew that would trigger doubt and suspicion by my fiancée that I was covering something up!! I did not own up to what I had done. I chose to see if she would ever notice. Well she did!! I immediately admitted to what and why I had deleted the txt explaining the last thing I had wanted to do was to delete all txt she had ever sent. (All were innocent and work related). So my fiancée was furious that I had not been transparent when the event occurred. I was excited that I no longer felt the need to lie about a shameful event and was completely honest. Bottom line is I should have been transparent up front. I should never had deleted any txt and just admitted she had taken on the task of checking on Dad. But I did not lie! And for that I feel that I have moved forward with accepting my shit! My lesson is lying isn't always about not telling the truth, it is also about being open and honest with your feelings, thoughts and actions! All be kind to yourselves as we work to get this right!

I haven't lied to my wife since I made the commitment to change, but I'm still exaggerating details of past events in social situations. I plan to change this by applying the same honestly strategies that I've used in my relationship to my friendships. Let's see if this proves to be the missing part. Today is my realisation of such as to the extent of my lying problem. I have been lying to make myself seem cooler and to encite pity.
Today I commit to being honest. I lost my soulmate by not being honest even when given a golden ticket to come clean. I have never been unfaithful to him but I left the country last minute on an impulse and lied to him about it. I am at Day 0 and hope to make it to day 1 and beyond. God bless
