I just told my girlfriend the big lie that I have been keeping from her for so long. I do feel a little bit better inside but seeing how it affected her makes that feeling go away as fast as it came. I wish I could be a big and better person in this life, but right now Im not. I feel like God should punish me for all of this and I deserve what is happening to me. I am the only one that feels this way. I have a problem that needs to be fixed.

Hi Folks. My name is Greg, and am a liar too. I have been away from this site for several months, but needed to check back in. I have had three months of not lying, and lied twice yesterday. Small lies that seemed insignificant, but the scale is not the issue. I need to start over again today.

Almjeh, keep a journal. Write down every time you lie. That's a good start.

Thank you SolitartyT. I can start doing that today. I tried alot of things but never really stuck with them. I did however have a descent day yesterday. Sometimes its just hard to change habits that I have been doing most of my life. Im glad that I joined this group. Thank you everyone.

My name is Derek and I'm a liar. I've lied once today, that I'm aware of. My friend's devout Catholic mother asked if I was a member of the church. Instead of saying that I lean towards atheism, I said I was Methodist which is technically true because I was confirmed into the church when I was around 12 and I also have lingering doubts about my current beliefs. This skepticism, in hind sight, makes me question whether I told her the truth or not. Regardless, I still felt like I was lying when I said it.

Well, maybe you were lying Derek, but don't punish yourself. That's the key. If you do, you'll be encouraged to lie more. Instead, acknowledge you did, and move on.

Spiritually speaking, faith is a good thing to have, even if it's an athiest faith. Myself, I'm a Unitarian Universalist, which lines me up with a church but doesn't obligate me to believe anything other than what I want. It's convenient, and most Christians think it's another denomination of their faith. May check it out.

Hello to the group. My name is Bryce. I have been a liar for most of my life and right now it is all starting to catch up with me.
