Checking in hope weekend free of lying.

Checking in, had my first support group meeting today, nice little group, about 7-8 members strong, it was very refreshing to sit along side people who have their own different problems and different situations. I am looking forward to next Saturday to go to this group again!

That is fantastic. What kind of support group did you decide to go to?

I went to a support group that deals with both compulsive disorders and emotional disorders. The facilitator suspects that I might have a combination of the two that might tie into some of my dishonesty problems.

Checking in yesterday told the truth for once..... hope to keep the day going without lies. Long road to recovery seems overwhelming, the beginning is is much more difficult trying to figure out the best strategy. have to put effort and work hard just a recent member so far no lies but only been couple days or so since I joined.

ppatel: I hear you, that road to recovery is overwhelming, long, and somewhat fearful. But if it makes you feel any better, ppatel, your not alone! We all here might not be physically walking next to one another, but in spirit we are shoulder to shoulder here, trying our best to walk that road together!

Yeah, no more lies since joining the group. I watch every sentence.

Thanks Aaron, so far so good taking it one day at a time. Starting the day here so I can continue to be on the right path.

I'm a liar. I need support with this because I cannot deal with this burden alone. This is day 1 as a part of this group with many more to follow. I understand that there are many steps that must be taken towards recovery.

Here. Another day, lie-free. But I had little contact with anyone today so I'm not sure it counts. I feel guilty because a lot of people are struggling with a lifetime of this and my lying thing was during a defined period. Maybe I did lie before and not know or remember? But nobody's ever called me a liar, except in jest. Nobody's said I had a lying problem. Nobody except for my ex-boyfriend (God, it hurts to call him that) and he did have reason to say it. But I am here to make damn sure I understand the severity of what I did, the pain lies bring to those we love & make damn sure it doesn't happen again. I would never have cheated on my guy and be had my full attention. I didn't even flirt. I was 100% his. But like he said, my lies were just as hurtful to him as if I'd slept with his brother. That was heart-breaking to realize but this is the legacy of lies.

Anyway, one way or the other, I'm going to bed again, lie-free. I guess that counts for something.

Keeping it up so far no lying, I hope today well be the same day since I have to take my daughter out for her birthday. I do not wish to ruin it and plan to stay lie free and give her a nice memory for a change.

I know I haven't checked in here in awhile. Been busy trying to deal with the person I lied to, and trying to better myself, but its hard when everything you did in the past keeps being brought up. Either way, still going to therapy and even though we don't talk about lying, it makes me think of different ways of handling situations.

I've been doing a better job at being honest with that person too. Now, I'm slowly being more truthful, even though they might not want to hear what is being said.

hello, I just join today, my name is Azel, and I'm a liar. I've been reading post after post, trying to use some of the things people say to they do, but sometimes I loss myself and blur out a lie. I understand that it is a long journey to stop this addiction. but the reason why I'm posting is, I want to say THANK YOU, it doesn't make it easier, but it does make me feel better knowing I'm not alone in this fight. Like everyone, still taking it one day at a time, and again THANK YOU

Checking in yesterday was lie free day, however was a stressful day was not easy since for the sake of my daughter had to go celebrate her birthday. It made my separated wife realize how difficult this is for her life, only thing I can hope is to continue to be on the right path and stay on top of my lying problem. Today is no different day begin with no lies and end with no lies.

Checking today seems like a better day than most, now I have direction and some what of a idea of how to tackle lying problems. Today well be no different try not to lie, focus, and have faith.
