I have been honest for three hours. I haven't talked to anyone in three hours.

Just keeping being honest Sue...it's as easy as lying, but without the loss of respect. And if those people can't respect you for being honest, they aren't worth it.

Thank you, J467 - I am learning more about why I lie and how it started. I have this desire to be agreeable. (I thought that was a good thing until now.)

No one knows what I really think or how I really feel about anything and, now, it has gotten to the point (at 55 yrs old) that I don't even know what I think or feel!!

Ego/Subconscious has a lot to do with this. I want to be liked, accepted, even admired! Now that I see where that has gotten me, that nonsense has to GO!

It's called omission, WE ALL do it, but some of us do it because we want to be liked, loved, etc. F___ that! Tell people like it is. Tell them the truth. I wonder if I did, I would still have the love of my life...but that is gone now. Not sure if she still reads what I post on here, but I realize I'm still the great guy I always was. I admitted my mistakes/lies, and moved on. But the damage was already done. But people have to want to change also if they want you to change.
Read all you can on here, it will help.

I picked up my 60 day "clean" coin last night! Feeling cautiously strong in my recovery from lying.

Hi - Happy Saturday. I am having a good week. More than once I wanted to just agree with someone just to get along and I didn't. I disagreed and the world didn't end!! A friend wanted to come down to Fl to buy a gun (under my name since she isn't a resident of FL) and then take it back to IL to 'scare' some of the neighbors who are bothering her. I told her no, I didn't feel comfortable doing that. If anything were to happen, like someone got killed, it would be on me. The old me would have agreed and god knows what would have happened.

well done sue. happy lie free saturday to all. slow down; take a deep breath, think before allowing a lie to pop out and if it does, fix-it immediately

Now that I am telling the truth, my life is upside down. Because I have spent so much time and now am ruining other people's lives when they thought I was agreeing and now I'm not. This is very hard. I want to go back to the lies. But I won't. I hope.

I'm at about 1 1/2 months of not lying now. Life is good. Staying busy with exercising and work. Hope all of you are still doing well and enjoying life as well.

keep up the good work guys - Sue - yeah, it gets hard because you're changing and friends don't know what to make of it. In fact you'll lose some friends along the way, but gain integrity.
