Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...

G'day guys,
I posted a while ago that I suspected my wife of 14 years was having an affair on me. All the usual red flags were there - all of them, but as yet, I still have no real proof that the affair actually existed. This has been going on for more than three years now,
Long story short,
It came to a head a couple of months ago, Accusations were thrown and heated words were exchanged after I caught her flirting with, and making doe eyes at a male co-worker. (he was and still is my prime suspect)
Shortly before this, and to his credit, this bloke approached me and asked me if I suspected him of having an affair with my wife. "because he felf a "vibe" coming from me (damn straight he did) and that he had been hearing rumours. - bullshit, I had never mentioned my suspicions to anyone there. We all work at the same place though I am in a different section.
I told him staight out of my suspicions and that if i ever got proof, two things would happen.
1. I would bury him.
2. I would tell his wife
not necissarily in that ordr.
This prick is a male slut, has cheated on his wife several times that I know of and even left her and their little child once for another woman. He is constantly hitting on all and sundry females at our work. Pretty much anyone with a pulse. Most of the women I talk to can't stand him because he is such a sleazy basterd. they all tell a similar story of his hitting on them. -You get the idea.
When I told him my intentions, the colour drained from his face and i think I saw real fear there.
When my wife and I had our strong words, she told me she was leaving. that it was all over etc etc and for once, my spine grew some bones and I said fine. Advised her of the reality that she had better see a lawyer because I allready had and that we should start packing the following day. We would both have to move out of our house, get the valuers in and start negotiations re a settlement because I was damned if I was just going to just walk away and give her anything without a fight.
For the first time in all our troubles, she actually broke down and cried and I left her to it..
The following morning, i was sitting by the computor when she came out and for the first time in three years, she initiated a sign of affection. (a little thing) She touched me affectionately on the arm as she walked past on her way to the bathroom. All my hard arse resolve melted and like the lap dog that I am, I also melted.
Shortly after this, things started to improve a bit and a couple of weeks later we went away on vacation. We did the whole romantic thing, staying is real nice places, rain forest cabins with spar and log fire etc etc, drank lots of wine, lots of eye contact, talked nicely a lot and even made love often and like we used to. It was bloody great! and I thought we were back on track.
At the end of the holliday, we returned home to work and reality and for a couple of weeks or so, things continued as they were while we were away. bloody brilliant! Lots of affection and cuddles, Lots of eye contact and plenty of great sex. I am a simple man - what can I say?
Over the past couple of weeks or so, I have noticed my wife gradually but surely pulling away from me. Less and less eye contact, finding excuses not to make love and rejecting affection and fearing that she was reverting back to her old nasty self, 4 nights ago I asked her if she was pulling away from me again. What was wrong? she said she didn't know.
Three nights ago, while I was cookng dinner, she came out and it was clear something was troubling her. she came into the kitchen and burst into tears and told me she just "can't live the lie anymore" that she no longer loves me that way that she used to or the way that I want her to. that I am a "good man" and that I deserve better.
This bloody gutted me and it seems clear to me that she is looking for an easy way out. She has broken my heart again, Just when the trust was starting to build and I thought we were making progress. i can't help myself from analysing everything she says and does looking for things to be suspicious of - again.
We had a calm, deep and meaningful discussion that night when all the time, I just wanted to smack her in the mouth. I have never struck a woman in my life and view any man who does with contempt and as being a coward.
The guts of the matter is that we are both in our 50's, though my wife looks much younger than her years (bitch) :)) and is still a VERY attractive woman. She is the most desireable woman I have ever met.. We are both comfortable in our home and are safe with each other. I told her this and tried to reason logically with her about why she would possibly want to throw it all away on some whim. I urged her to think rationally and that even if she is having an affair (which she denied) Does she think that any other man would put up with her radical mood swings, inconsistencies and all the other bullshit that i have - for as long as I have. It got ugly again. For the record, she is not menapausal..
Yesterday morning, i stayed home from work and we made love, and it was the best sex we have had in years, and the first daylight sex in much longer than that . I stayed home because I thought she had made arrangemens to meet her maggot while I was at work and i was determined to fuck that up on her..
Afterwards, She said in a passing comment, "Wow, that is the best daylight sex i have had in ages"
My problem is this. My wife and i haven't had sex during the day time in a very long time. Probably about 8 years. what the hell is she talking about? did she slip up? or am I being paranoid?
Afterwards, I felt dirty and used. what the hell is going on here? Am I losing my mind?

Mate I wasn't ignoring you. I got interrupted while posting. Thank you mate. Feeling a little better now that I know help is on the way. I was at crisis point this morning.
Not thinking clearly now, just trying to survive but the pain seems to have eased a little.
Mick, good to hear you are seeing that counselor! This all goes to the 'taking care of you' as you need to. Hope you end up with a good one.
Still sending that support, along with Blondgal - I am very sure. Keep us posted.
L~
I thought this roller coaster was extreme before but the one I am on now is just bullshit.. sitting here alone in my living room now with all the time in the world to type this.
This morning, when Robin finally came home at around 06.30, My sense of outrage and hurt was huge. Allmost straight away, I launched into an inexcusable tirade of spite and venom where I poured forth all my hurt, and told her my truth as I was feeling it at the time. I think I was lashing out and some sort of attempt to get her to understand the extent of the damage she has done. how i would never do such a thing to her etc etc yada yada how what she was doing was a basterd, selfifish thing and oh,so much more. i was still pouring forth when my work called me to ask where I was.
I went to work, explained things to my boss and then had to attend an interview that had the potential to destroy my career. It was about all the "sick" leave I have been taking in this last year.
I spilled my guts in it, broke down and actually cried, in front of my immediate superior, the HR manager and the second in command of my place. another first for me - cryng in front of another man. Can I get any bloody lower than this? I bloody hope not. i explained that every day that I called in as being unfit for duty was to attend a crisis in my marriage and threw myself to the wolves. had they wanted to question me about a murder, I would have confessed there and then. The upsot of it was that they were taken aback by my candidness and have arranged for me to see a counsellor on Monday. They didn't need to do this - They could have fired me today. In these times, Who is going to employ a burnt out and battle scarred old warrier like me?
When I got back to my workplace, my Support Officer and the colleage in the next office had taken over my workload and were attending to things on my behalf. These two blokes hate each other like poison but they are both mates of mine and they forgot their fued and pulled together to help me.
Guess what, I boody cried again. and right in front of a group of the hardest and most dangerous men you could imagine. I am viewed by all and sundry of this happy little "family' as the disciplinarian and all round hard man. What a load of horseshit! I was crying like a girl.
My mate gave me a couple of Valerian tablets, a natural, herbal remedy for stress and these took the edge of the worst of my anguish. I now have a bottle of them at hand and can highly resommend them. They have dulled the pain to a point where i can think fairly clearly and realize only too well now the damage i did this morning.
Tonight I came home, exhausted to the point of collapse but much calmer and resigned to the fact of her leaving than I have been today. It seems i hurt Robin pretty badly this morning and she is very definately movin out.
Tonight, in my much calmer sate of mind, I was able to hold her and look in her eyes and tell her that I will let her go. i will even help her to move out, if that is what she needs and she can take anything from here that she wants. i think this shook her more than my venom this morning. It bloody shook me but there you have it, . i even told her of my previous plans to change the locks the moment she moved out. Tonight, i told her she is free to come and go as she chooses and that if at some point she chooses to come back -vthat would be fine by me. This roller coaster is even more insane than I am
Tonight at least, I am resigned to the fact of her leaveing. The reasons for it are no longer relevent - she is going.
So bloody tired now, i am not even sure if what I am typing is even understandable. My heart is broken, I am broken and so very afraid.. If I cared what happened to me now, it would be a drama. I am sosorry my thread has turned into a soap opera. The truth is i don't give a shit anymore. My soap opera has turned into a black comedy and i don't give a shit about that either.
Good night my friends and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I have read over this thread and you are one decent, kind, and understanding man. I am so sorry for your pain.
Showing your vulnerability to your work colleagues just shows how masculine you are and whether they tell you or not they will admire you for your honesty.
If Robin leaves then so be it. She then would have made her decision and in time you will accept it and then it will be your time to move on. Easier said than done I know.
Coming here will give you enormous strength and enable you to cope each day.
God bless Mick

She's obviously going through her own crisis right now and the two of you are probably not helping each other with the wild roller coaster rides you've been on. Take the time to get yourself together. She'll have that time too to do what she needs to do. If there's still enough love within her to be with you again, then she needs to find that out herself. The two of you together right now seems to be counter-productive.
If she loves you, she may come crying back to you. Then it'd be up to you on whether you trust she'll commit to you for life. If there's any doubt that that would happen, then I think you need to make the step right now and not a minute later to move on. No need to be around each other in the interim. Distance may serve to calm the wild emotions you're dealing with.
I could be completely wrong here. This is just one person's perspective who's been through a lot. Either way you take it, I'm hoping the best for you.
By the way, what kind of job is it that you're working with "very dangerous men"? I'm guessing that you're not running a Starbucks down there.

You might want to look into medications if your outbursts are that strong and damaging to your attempt to remain in the marriage and continue with your job!!! I resisted because I guess I didn't think it was manly to go to a head doctor or be on the happy pills as I call them. But I didn't have a choice (Military) we are required to see a shrink for re-adjustment purposes when we cpme back. I think they actually helped me calm down and keep my emotions controlled. Yes I actually had times i would cry just out of the blue or just watching TV where a sad thing happened etc.
This has been a rough few days for you...hell, a rough year.
Can't top therule's advice for you. Just can't.
Still sending support and will keep watching this thread.
L~
My Aussie neighbor told me that you would enjoy this!!! Not exactly sure what it means,
But, what I'm sayin to my sweet hurt friend is:
Get back on y our horse, your bike, and ride, ride , ride all the way you can. Let it out of your system, sleep, and relax.
L & I are thinking of you, at this moment, hoping you can try to find a moment of peace & serenity, amongst the chaos that life has dealt you for now. There will be the sunrise, and the sunset. Being such a talented photographer, enjoy that nature..... It's free and it's freeing.....it helps to soothe the mind.
And if ya got time, go fishin, as L said!!!!
Very wise, think about it, very carefully.
Eviser: too very wise
Sometimes we do need a tad bit of medicine, temporarily for a month or so, to get us thru this most difficult time.
Try your best to maintain yourself enough to keep that job. Jobs are hard to come by right now. Keep it, you will need it!!!
Doing better today. - much calmer so far. Don't have much time just now but will post more tonight. I hop to get down to the beach this evening to get a shot or a hundred of them of the full moon (My Mistress Moon) :)) rising over the sea.
If I do and they turn out OK, will post a couple up here. Who knows, i might even howl at her a little tonight. I think I might start a new thread. This one is getting epic in proportions.
Just to share my journey through the actuall seperation and what-ever comes. The Rule, I will PM you shortly mate.
Kudos.
Yes, Blondgal, still sending the support, along with everyone else.
Hope you howled, man. Howling is good. I love to howl once in a while. Great stress reliever.
Hang in there, L~
If ya did get those shots, post them on your profile! I'm sure others would love to see them, as you add to your collection!!!
Hope you're doing better!
