Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...

G'day guys,
I posted a while ago that I suspected my wife of 14 years was having an affair on me. All the usual red flags were there - all of them, but as yet, I still have no real proof that the affair actually existed. This has been going on for more than three years now,
Long story short,
It came to a head a couple of months ago, Accusations were thrown and heated words were exchanged after I caught her flirting with, and making doe eyes at a male co-worker. (he was and still is my prime suspect)
Shortly before this, and to his credit, this bloke approached me and asked me if I suspected him of having an affair with my wife. "because he felf a "vibe" coming from me (damn straight he did) and that he had been hearing rumours. - bullshit, I had never mentioned my suspicions to anyone there. We all work at the same place though I am in a different section.
I told him staight out of my suspicions and that if i ever got proof, two things would happen.
1. I would bury him.
2. I would tell his wife
not necissarily in that ordr.
This prick is a male slut, has cheated on his wife several times that I know of and even left her and their little child once for another woman. He is constantly hitting on all and sundry females at our work. Pretty much anyone with a pulse. Most of the women I talk to can't stand him because he is such a sleazy basterd. they all tell a similar story of his hitting on them. -You get the idea.
When I told him my intentions, the colour drained from his face and i think I saw real fear there.
When my wife and I had our strong words, she told me she was leaving. that it was all over etc etc and for once, my spine grew some bones and I said fine. Advised her of the reality that she had better see a lawyer because I allready had and that we should start packing the following day. We would both have to move out of our house, get the valuers in and start negotiations re a settlement because I was damned if I was just going to just walk away and give her anything without a fight.
For the first time in all our troubles, she actually broke down and cried and I left her to it..
The following morning, i was sitting by the computor when she came out and for the first time in three years, she initiated a sign of affection. (a little thing) She touched me affectionately on the arm as she walked past on her way to the bathroom. All my hard arse resolve melted and like the lap dog that I am, I also melted.
Shortly after this, things started to improve a bit and a couple of weeks later we went away on vacation. We did the whole romantic thing, staying is real nice places, rain forest cabins with spar and log fire etc etc, drank lots of wine, lots of eye contact, talked nicely a lot and even made love often and like we used to. It was bloody great! and I thought we were back on track.
At the end of the holliday, we returned home to work and reality and for a couple of weeks or so, things continued as they were while we were away. bloody brilliant! Lots of affection and cuddles, Lots of eye contact and plenty of great sex. I am a simple man - what can I say?
Over the past couple of weeks or so, I have noticed my wife gradually but surely pulling away from me. Less and less eye contact, finding excuses not to make love and rejecting affection and fearing that she was reverting back to her old nasty self, 4 nights ago I asked her if she was pulling away from me again. What was wrong? she said she didn't know.
Three nights ago, while I was cookng dinner, she came out and it was clear something was troubling her. she came into the kitchen and burst into tears and told me she just "can't live the lie anymore" that she no longer loves me that way that she used to or the way that I want her to. that I am a "good man" and that I deserve better.
This bloody gutted me and it seems clear to me that she is looking for an easy way out. She has broken my heart again, Just when the trust was starting to build and I thought we were making progress. i can't help myself from analysing everything she says and does looking for things to be suspicious of - again.
We had a calm, deep and meaningful discussion that night when all the time, I just wanted to smack her in the mouth. I have never struck a woman in my life and view any man who does with contempt and as being a coward.
The guts of the matter is that we are both in our 50's, though my wife looks much younger than her years (bitch) :)) and is still a VERY attractive woman. She is the most desireable woman I have ever met.. We are both comfortable in our home and are safe with each other. I told her this and tried to reason logically with her about why she would possibly want to throw it all away on some whim. I urged her to think rationally and that even if she is having an affair (which she denied) Does she think that any other man would put up with her radical mood swings, inconsistencies and all the other bullshit that i have - for as long as I have. It got ugly again. For the record, she is not menapausal..
Yesterday morning, i stayed home from work and we made love, and it was the best sex we have had in years, and the first daylight sex in much longer than that . I stayed home because I thought she had made arrangemens to meet her maggot while I was at work and i was determined to fuck that up on her..
Afterwards, She said in a passing comment, "Wow, that is the best daylight sex i have had in ages"
My problem is this. My wife and i haven't had sex during the day time in a very long time. Probably about 8 years. what the hell is she talking about? did she slip up? or am I being paranoid?
Afterwards, I felt dirty and used. what the hell is going on here? Am I losing my mind?

Mate, I am home again so have more time to reply to your very well thought out post.
Of course, you are absolutely correct in everything you said in your last post. My hard arse attitude is merely my survival mode kicking in.
I caught her out in another lie tonight and she knows that I know she is lying - even though I said nothing and did not even bother to challenge her on it. After all what would be the point?
She is going to do what she is going to do and there is precious little I can do about it. I am in the process of trying to withdraw from this woman who I no longer know and am allmost at the point where I don't give a shit what she does, provided she doesn't bring her fuckstick home here. I will not tollerate my home being violated this way.
She can sneak around doing whatever sordid little thing she likes and the stress of her double life will eventually exact a heavy toll on her.
I believe in Karma and I think some very bad Karma is coming her way as I type this.
Part of her beliefe system (and she is devoted to it, reads
"and it harm none,
Do as ye will"
Well, this makes a mockery of her beliefs and shows her for the hypocrite she is. She has knowingly and willingly done immeasurable harm to me with what can only be described as vicious and nasty intent.
Wow, I go away for a day or two and you have really, really put things into perspective. Seems you have taken that deep breath, realized what you are truly dealig with and are gearing yourself up.
Anger is one great motivator.
I do have to agree with TheRule - your anger with her may get you a bit stuck in the 'not healing' stage. More like trapped in 'not healing.' Did that one myself. Be careful, Mick. Sure, anger is a great motivator. I believe that totally - but it has its own hidden sword and could get you later.
Catching her in more lies? Don't you just wish that would stop? What's the point now? It's all out on the table, so to speak. It NEEDS to be out there. All the continued lying is just frustration. Mick, you already know it all - the reasons and the plan. there is no reason in the world for her to continue lying. She does - hell, they all do. Don't they understand that truth is easier to deal with? Hell, we can deal with anything if we just KNOW what the hell it is that we have to face.
So we think Robin is reading all of this? Hmmmmm....here's my words to her - Think carefully for what you ask for, Robin. You just may get it...and tell him the total truth, would you? He deserves it from you for all of the years he invested in building a life with you.

Speaking of getting my life back on track.
I am a keen fisherman. gonna go and catch some squid (Calimari) on Tuesday. i got a real nice sweet Aussie white waiting in the fridge.
i haven't been fishing in a bloody long time - too long. Now it is time for me to do what I want, when I want. No more walking on eggshells. or following her round like a bloody lap dog.
mmmm, fresh squid and perhaps a kilo or two of prawns (shrimp) thrown in My mouth is watering at the thought of it.
This has inspired me to get my old but very good runabout boat out again. start living MY life and having some fun. Its been so long, i have forgotten what it feels like.
Shelli,
Thank you for the PM.
Please respond to my answer.
Wash your hands of her......expose to all what a whore she is and then have nothing to do with her again!!!
L~
Anyway, point being is that for the sake of your soul, getting out on the boat like you mention and giving yourself some quality time with just yourself is quite healing. I'd recommend that to anyone suffering as we all have. Maybe not face up with wild grizzlies, but at least get out in nature and find out where you are in life.
Good day my friend and get some damn sleep!
-TheRule
For the first time in ages, I slept like a baby last night - unassisted :)))) and have woken to a classic, cool but clear and sunny Queensland winter's day. Stunningly beautiful.
Our winters here are mild by any standard to the point of being allmost non-existant. Very definately going fishing tomorrow.
There is also a beautiful river in this area that I have been wanting to do a canoe expedition down the length of for years. Probably a couple of hundred miles in length, starts in the mountains and there are only two towns on its banks. i had been planning to do this with HER but will be very happy to gear up and do it solo now.
I have paddled parts of her (the river) and it is truly a journey of the soul. She is a sacred river to the local aboriginal tribes who call her Mamabula. Europeans call her the Mary River. All locals love and revere her equally. She is the pumping heart of this area and has nurtureed the inhabitants since time began and is still the last undamed (undamned) significant river on Australias east coast.
Bloody hell, look at that, I am hijacking my own thread here - sorry.
Never mind. SHE is off at work today and I have 3 lovely days off with the place to myself. gonna make a lil sawdust today and then sort some tackle, load up the yak and stuff and head off at the crack of dawn tomorrow.
For the first time in ages, I slept in this morning. I didn't even get up to see her off. This is the first time that that has happened in years. I really believe that I am starting to get better. The hurt is just a dull ache now and I hope the pain and outrage never come back.
Oh yeah, I have started uploading a few of my images that I like in my album here. Please feel free to browse and offer critique if you like. :))
For me? I just grab my fishing pole and worms. Very basic. The fishing I do is by my grandpa's pond and it was his true love. So much of my history was there on that pond, swimming, fishing, skating in winter, sledding, you name it. I think I head down there for the history and the memories themselves - along with the fact that I feel a bit more centered, a bit more in touch with who I am after spending time there. No boats there. I sit in the grass and cast out and enjoy the scenery and let the memories take me back. It always amazes me how the time has changes so much down there. The trees we planted are huge now. Just shows how time can change perspective and approach.
Go ahead and hijack your own thread. I am enjoying this!
Hope you have one hell of a day out there. Keep taking care of you. It may be hard to see now, but all of this - even this difficulty - is defining you. Hell, it defines us all. Perhaps sharpens us and gets us in touch a bit more with who we really are at our core.
At least I hope so, anyway.

I don't know if it is proper here or not to post links to another site, but here is a link to an aboriginal dreamtime story about Mamabula and specifically about "Dala" as told to me by "Auntie Eve" that I posted on another site.
http://www.spiritoftheearth.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ancestors&action=display&thread=398
There is much wisdom in her words - enjoy
Beautiful writing there. I hope many take the time to click on that link! Some beautiful photos too! If that is where you are going...oh so outstanding for you!
Keep taking care of you, will you? L~
Somehow, i thought you might like that story.
There is much in it that could be related to any river, anywhere in the world. All to often we see rivers and the small and remote communities they suport and nurture devestated on some political whim of the government in power on the day. Mumabula is one of my great passions in this life and one that I am devoted to.
Auntie Eve is not talking some ancient myth in her story. Dala actually do come up at times to be stroked by paddlers and there truly are sacred sites along her banks. One only has to be slightly spiritual to feel their power as one paddles past. The farmers who own the land where these places are have ALL recognized this and the importance of these places and have left them as they have allways been.
These same landowners share a deep bond with the traditional owners (the Gubbi Gubbi and Butchela peoples) and allow almost unlimited access through their land to the river to visit camp at and nurture these sites.
Going fishing now. will be back tonight. I am trying to update my journal with entries that are only visible to my friends but everything I write is coming up for puplic scrutany. Will have to try harder.
love
mick
Sounding better and better. You are, that is. I really do hope more people hit that link. The scenery is breathtaking.
Hope your fishing goes so well. More regrouping is always called for.
Keep taking care of you, L~
I had a brilliiant day! thank you, then, I had to come home. I will send you a link to my trip report on another forum shortly. Lots of piiccies of my local bay.
I paddled a few miles offshoore and pulled out on a small island and just sat and soaked up the scenery and solitude., calm seas, clear water over coral, hardly a cloud in the sky and a mildish winter's day - stunning!
I did a lot of soul searching and a smallish manta ray was playing just off the rocks. i just had to get in the water with her. I swam with her for a while and she wasn't frightened of me at all. Usually, they are pretty shy around here. I left my island on an absolute high.
I derive a LOT of pleasure from the simplest of things. The island in uninhabited and have been meaning to camp on it for a few days, for years now. Will be doing it real soon I think.
When I got home, the same old doom and gloom has started to set in again but my batteries are re-charged somewhat and i can at least tollerate the B.S. here for a little longer.
in the meantime, here is a link to one of my albums. A few of the inages in it are HERS but only because I just couldn't be bothered to delete them yet. they were all taken this year and within a couple of hundred miles from here.

What a great day you had! Amazing how we keep finding those ways to keep our batteries charged (keep looking for those little ways...) and how it helps us get thru those hard times...like when we come home to that cold shoulder.
Isn't fishing awesome???
the links you post continue to be beautiful. There is not much in the states that compares to this.
Ahhh, buddy, keep those batteries charged. You'll need it, but it seems you are sooooo finding your way thru this.
Any news on the kayak???
Keep focused, L~
Let it be known, I am recruiting volunteers, as I type to assist me with the development of this "Kit" ; I think it may be called " A Parting Kit for you, My Shit". Of course (Rman) and other DS folks, the name is up for negotiation. Here's my partial list of what, you, Mick, need to give to Robin.
I think Mick, that you should secretly video-tape this gift-giving moment and save it like a Kodak moment, for posterity's sake. You tell her..."In love, I let you go, and here are a couple things to start your new life with."
"A Parting Survival Kit"
1. A Watering Can and store bought fertilizer: for the "Grass is Greener Complex"
(may also be substituted with human fertilizer; insert feces in a baggie until moments prior to giving your kit, then transfer with a stick into a lovely jewelry box which normally houses rings. Don't forget to wrap it exquisitely!)
2. Flavored Condom Package:
so she can have all the sex she wants
3. Dr. Prescription Pad:
Prewritten for, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Gonorhea,
Syphyllis, AIDS, and HIV
(Covers the gamut, since you know she won't use the condoms)
3A Kleenex boxes: purchased wholesale, a package of 20 boxes
for all the tears she's gonna shed, after you tell her you won't
even consider taking her back
4. BOB :
(or self-pleasuring devices, don't forget to rub Vicks Vapor Rub
first, and let dissipate, so she thinks it's pre-lubed w/ vaseline)
Get the smallest one possible, so it has no effect!!!
Buy extra cucumbers, for her orgies too!
5. Magnifying glass:
to be used so she can locate her hot one-night stand's unit
6. Binoculars:
So she can spy on you, as you date beautiful sexy women.
7. Books:
"Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places" by Ewe Blewitt
"Narcissistic Men, Living & Learning" by Itsmyway R. Highway
"Help for Cougars" by Ira Oldbitch
"Menopause & Changing Your Wet Sheets" by Emma Drip
"Weight Reduction during Menopause" byFatti Buttocks
"Money Management for Spenders" by Takeme Shopping
(I NEED HELP FROM YOU GUYS TO FILL OUT THIS BOOK
SECTION)
8. Leopard Leotard Outfit:
To wear when she's hunting young men.
9. A Kiddie Watch:
To remind her time is not on her side...
10. A disposable camera & tape-recorder:
To document the physical abuse & mental abuse she seems to want.
11. "Home-made CD" with songs entitled:
"Kick her to the Curb" by ____(Need your input here, too).
12. A beautiful tie: to hang herself with after she discovers that
you were the best thing in her life.
13. One huge Construction boot: to kick herself in the arse for
leaving a perfectly good, loving, husband.
14. Emergency hot line numbers:
for Depression, Abuse, and Suicide Prevention
15. A small wooden door with hinges which you personally
fashion for her in your wood shop: with note attached, "Don't
let the door kick you in the Arse as you leave"
Don't forget to post it on UTube or some internet website, so we can view it too! We are rooting for ya, Mick. I think I'm gonna have L personally deliver it to you, though. You should know we've been fighting over who is gonna deliver this kit to you in person! lol
I know you got first dibs, LStecker! And you are a good woman, okay I concede. Let us know how the "river trip" went and bring back pics for us to see!
