Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...

G'day guys,
I posted a while ago that I suspected my wife of 14 years was having an affair on me. All the usual red flags were there - all of them, but as yet, I still have no real proof that the affair actually existed. This has been going on for more than three years now,
Long story short,
It came to a head a couple of months ago, Accusations were thrown and heated words were exchanged after I caught her flirting with, and making doe eyes at a male co-worker. (he was and still is my prime suspect)
Shortly before this, and to his credit, this bloke approached me and asked me if I suspected him of having an affair with my wife. "because he felf a "vibe" coming from me (damn straight he did) and that he had been hearing rumours. - bullshit, I had never mentioned my suspicions to anyone there. We all work at the same place though I am in a different section.
I told him staight out of my suspicions and that if i ever got proof, two things would happen.
1. I would bury him.
2. I would tell his wife
not necissarily in that ordr.
This prick is a male slut, has cheated on his wife several times that I know of and even left her and their little child once for another woman. He is constantly hitting on all and sundry females at our work. Pretty much anyone with a pulse. Most of the women I talk to can't stand him because he is such a sleazy basterd. they all tell a similar story of his hitting on them. -You get the idea.
When I told him my intentions, the colour drained from his face and i think I saw real fear there.
When my wife and I had our strong words, she told me she was leaving. that it was all over etc etc and for once, my spine grew some bones and I said fine. Advised her of the reality that she had better see a lawyer because I allready had and that we should start packing the following day. We would both have to move out of our house, get the valuers in and start negotiations re a settlement because I was damned if I was just going to just walk away and give her anything without a fight.
For the first time in all our troubles, she actually broke down and cried and I left her to it..
The following morning, i was sitting by the computor when she came out and for the first time in three years, she initiated a sign of affection. (a little thing) She touched me affectionately on the arm as she walked past on her way to the bathroom. All my hard arse resolve melted and like the lap dog that I am, I also melted.
Shortly after this, things started to improve a bit and a couple of weeks later we went away on vacation. We did the whole romantic thing, staying is real nice places, rain forest cabins with spar and log fire etc etc, drank lots of wine, lots of eye contact, talked nicely a lot and even made love often and like we used to. It was bloody great! and I thought we were back on track.
At the end of the holliday, we returned home to work and reality and for a couple of weeks or so, things continued as they were while we were away. bloody brilliant! Lots of affection and cuddles, Lots of eye contact and plenty of great sex. I am a simple man - what can I say?
Over the past couple of weeks or so, I have noticed my wife gradually but surely pulling away from me. Less and less eye contact, finding excuses not to make love and rejecting affection and fearing that she was reverting back to her old nasty self, 4 nights ago I asked her if she was pulling away from me again. What was wrong? she said she didn't know.
Three nights ago, while I was cookng dinner, she came out and it was clear something was troubling her. she came into the kitchen and burst into tears and told me she just "can't live the lie anymore" that she no longer loves me that way that she used to or the way that I want her to. that I am a "good man" and that I deserve better.
This bloody gutted me and it seems clear to me that she is looking for an easy way out. She has broken my heart again, Just when the trust was starting to build and I thought we were making progress. i can't help myself from analysing everything she says and does looking for things to be suspicious of - again.
We had a calm, deep and meaningful discussion that night when all the time, I just wanted to smack her in the mouth. I have never struck a woman in my life and view any man who does with contempt and as being a coward.
The guts of the matter is that we are both in our 50's, though my wife looks much younger than her years (bitch) :)) and is still a VERY attractive woman. She is the most desireable woman I have ever met.. We are both comfortable in our home and are safe with each other. I told her this and tried to reason logically with her about why she would possibly want to throw it all away on some whim. I urged her to think rationally and that even if she is having an affair (which she denied) Does she think that any other man would put up with her radical mood swings, inconsistencies and all the other bullshit that i have - for as long as I have. It got ugly again. For the record, she is not menapausal..
Yesterday morning, i stayed home from work and we made love, and it was the best sex we have had in years, and the first daylight sex in much longer than that . I stayed home because I thought she had made arrangemens to meet her maggot while I was at work and i was determined to fuck that up on her..
Afterwards, She said in a passing comment, "Wow, that is the best daylight sex i have had in ages"
My problem is this. My wife and i haven't had sex during the day time in a very long time. Probably about 8 years. what the hell is she talking about? did she slip up? or am I being paranoid?
Afterwards, I felt dirty and used. what the hell is going on here? Am I losing my mind?

i think you might be correct in every thing you say except the part about my being good looking LOL but thank you for saying it anyway.
It seems that I may not be very smart and need to have the information punched into me more than once - but it is slowly starting to sink in LOL.
As far as her looks are concerned, They are irrelevent to me. i was only highlighting the fact to try to show how much I love her and how desireable she is to other men. I wouldn't care what she looked like at all, but to me, she is the most beautiful woman in the world.
What she is, on the inside is a mystery to me. I don't even know who she is anymore. - if I ever did.
re taking a break, yes. On my next group of days off, i plan to do just that. I can feel a road trip coming on - a big one.(smile)
Hi L, yet again girl, I think you are absolutely correct.
Love to you both
mick
Take care and have some fun. Eat some great food. Have some laughs. Keep taking care of you, L~
I just re-read this thread, just to remind myself of the shitstorm she put me through.
I just can't believe this. My very own little soap opera. Likewise, I can't believe the changes all this has wrought in me.
I am a man again! My strength is returning daily and so is my will and resolve to see this thing out..
I am in a position now to sit back, take stock of all that has happened and all that she has done to me. Re-visiting this thread has reminded me of all the support I have recieved here and also of all the pain I went through. It is funny how we seem to forget about the worst of the pain and just remember when things were good. I wonder how that happens.
In the meantime, Let me thank one and all who have contributed to my little soap opera and helped me through this in so many ways.
Love and much gratitude to all of you,
Mick
Sometimes we have to look back to be able to look forward clearly.
Hindsight is 20/20.
Sending support, L~
It's so good to share your good news and progress.
Regards
Affable

Have a blast! :D :D
I have been on and off this forum for a bit...seeing your story develop.
It's great to hear how your perspective is improving.
Sounds like you are processing this terrible thing of the past.
Your story and attitude gives me hope and encouragement. I know that I can be there someday. For me, D-day was Oct/07, but we are still together....not going well.
I have heard that when the marriage terminates suddenly, the trauma is worse, but the recovery is quicker. I am beginning to really believe that.
Yeah, Blondy, I saw our favorite Aussie was doing the wild thing all over the place and high fived him, literally, with myself (try it sometime, it's fun!) and said HELL YEAH! THAT SO ROCKS!
What a way to move forward, hey?
Sending some love, L~
Bloody hell! what a week! and it is only Tuesday. LOL
Done the slut thing for a few weeks now - for sure LOL but now have found a very nice girl. Dated her a few times and we seem to have so much in common it is scary.
Early days yet, but we have both agreed to stop our dating exploits and to explore the possibility of US and the more I think about it the more I like the idea. This lady treats me very well and she actually LIKES me for who and what I am, (damaged goods and all) I am bloody scared by the thought of a relationship at this stage, but at the same time, feel like a 16 year old kid with his first love.
No idea what all this means but I am very comfortable in the company of the lady - Cher, I feel safe with her. Dare I let my guard completely down? can I even do this? no idea, but hell, I really want to try.
Meanwhile, Robin is still acting all hurt and betrayed, even though she has asked for settlement and division of assets. This will probably mean my going into debt for the rest of my life - just to buy her out of her share. Thank God there is no alimony here.
Wish me luck guys, I have the feeling that I am about to embark on a whole new and unexpected adventure!
Love
Mick
All of life is one great adventure, isn't it? Even all the shit that went down with Robin was somewhat of an adventure. Not a very good one, but it did teach you so much about yourself along the way.
And now Cher...are you learning that you still have a great capactiy to love that doesn't quit? Are you learning that your heart may be damaged, but still yearns to go on and move forward?
...and are you learning that there are some out there who are worth going out on that scarey ledge for? Even if it scary, it's right. Even when we realize it's not them, it's US that has to work thru trusting again and letting down the walls, so to speak.
Happy for you, man. Very...
Hope you have a blast on your path and know you can always count on my support, even when you are slutting around...probably more so then (lol)
Much love, L~
I am happy for you and Cher,.....BUT, and there is a BUT....
Please be sure that you take care of unfinished business with Robin first, and be painstakingly honest with Cher! I'd hate to see her get hurt, since she sounds like a nice gal.
The reason I say this is....because you have fluctuated like the wind with Robin, based on her ever-changing moods, and I know that you still love her dearly, especially with all the history.
Now that you've had some time to yourself, I think it may behove you to completely terminate all future plans with Robin, so she knows where you stand, and you know where you stand. And Cher needs to know where you stand.
This thing that you are doing, is called "over-lapping" relationships. In other words, one relationship is not completely over before another begins, and that could be a recipe for a huge disaster.
It's not fair to continue with Cher, and keep her on hold, to wait to see what Robin does, because she will definitely get hurt, and that's the last thing you want to do. In essence, you'd be doing an "instant replay" of Robin's indecisive behavior.
I really encourage that you take the time to decide what it is that you want, who it is that you want, and close one door, before opening the other. Now, since that is too late, and we can't reverse the past, think about it for the near future. As long as you have any hope for Robin, or she thinks that she has a chance with you (due to both of you giving each other mixed messages), you probably have no business persuing Cher!
Slow down, ol bloke, and take the time you need to settle the business. Sure you want immediate gratification, but sometimes it is well worth the wait, to take care of old business first, and then you are a totally free man, with a free conscience, and that is priceless. Don't continue taking a web that was woven with hurt, and all mixed up, and try to rebuild on that web, cuz you got two female spiders in that web, and that cannot be good. Timing is everything, and you could risk losing the new love of your life, Cher, due to not waiting, and may never recapture this opportunity again!
Just think about it! One web, one woman, one man: that's all it was meant to be! Unless of course you're a Mormom, and want 7 or 8 wives, and they live together harmoniously, lol! Fat chance! Be careful for yourself, and for Cher! Treat yourself with kindness, but also be totally fair, and get your integrity back because I know that it is important to you, as per our discussions!
Let me know, how this pans out! I just want to see you a happy man, but also one with integrity in place, which will only help your future that much more! Think about Cher's situation, too, and not just feeling desirable, cuz you already know that part, and have proven that part! It's easy to get laid, but not easy to find someone who is committed, knows what they want, and proves that on a daily basis!
You know I love you to death, but on this one, I hope I can respectfully disagree. Here's why....
It seems Robin only got to be re-interested in our favorite Aussie when he started seeing other women when she said she was done and not coming back when she moved out after our Aussie tried like crazy to resolve things with her before she moved out when he was pretty sure she was having an affair with someone.
O.K. Deep breath? Whew....
Sure, it's still dissolving between Mick and Robin with his deciding he was pretty much done, but the dog died and THAT threw anyone which is something I can so understand seeing as I have puppies too and the sex should not have happened, but when he again asked her to stay with him, I believe she AGAIN turned him down and AGAIN gave no reason, but that really depends on the day with her because one day she wants him and the next day she may not...
Man, deep breath again...hope you are still with me.
Enter Cher. Unconditional. Uncomplicated. Accepting. Does not play on rollercoasters.
Nice, huh?
Yes, I do agree that the timing of Cher is a bit difficult, but when something good comes along, truly good, and those pieces all fall into place with shocking clarity and all, for me, personally, I say...If I was in this boat just like Mick is now...
I would get the hell off the rollercoaster and do some cruising with Cher.
Right doesn't always happen when it's easy for us. Right happens, once in a while, at those odd times. We don't plan on it and it catches us unawares, but it's still right.
It could be that Cher is good and right for Mick. (Hell, I could be wrong...we all could be wrong at any given time.)
And Robin? I have a hard time feeling that this woman, who has been his wife for God only knows how long, who knows him in and out, would put him thru this crazy ride that would have continued for who KNOWS how long just for her jollies...who does that to someone you loved at one time?
And then there is Cher. There. Not playing on the rollercoaster.
I agree that those fine details should be wrapped up, like a divorce and all, but if Mick looks Robin dead in the eyes and says, "Woman, I am done," is that not enough?
There has to be one or the other. Cher entered a bit too soon, but she is solid and kind and Mick finds her well in his life. I do agree that the ends need to be locked up. But I don't think he should pass on a good thing because Robin is still nosing around or can't get it thru her head that it's done.
Hope you get my point...and sending a hug, L~
Both of you ladies make really solid points. Question for Mick though: Even though your time with Cher is happy, carefree, and new, do you have an eye out, even just a little bit, in hopes that your wife will do an about face and return to you as you once knew her? If you can honestly say "no", then there's no reason at all to not pursue your new lady to the fullest. However, if you're hoping for the near impossible (only based on your messages), then I think you need to do some serious self-analysis to determine what's best for you AND what's best for your companion(s). If you think Robin MIGHT want to seriously reconcile with you sometime in the near future, then maybe you need to stack up the pros and cons of each lady and then cut it clean, one way or another. Can't say Robin doesn't deserve to get hurt, but I don't think Cher does. Any strings still attached to your W would not be fair to your new lady. If you've let go, then any further contact from Robin would be, should be, viewed as an annoyance to you and Cher. Can you say to Robin, "stop pestering me and move on already?" If not, hmmm...
That's just my view.
