Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I just woke up a little while ago ... rough night trying to sleep, even with Ambien. So, going to get a little coffee in me now and I am determined to make today the best that I can!
I so agree on the not asking how you are thing. That just gets so hard after awhile. Good luck
David I will confess to you and all that I am stuck in this house. I can walk. It is hard to sit for an hour in the pew but mostly I just don't go anywhere. I love the Lord and sing praise songs out loud and in my heart. I am ashamed that I don't just get out of the house at all. My dear soulemate does not miss a sunday. He is patient with me. So there is that.
Second thing is many wishes and prayers for you for tomorrow. One thing I do when surgery is scheduled for afternoon is rinse my mouth with really cold water and spit it out. I know no liquids but your time is a little later so if your mouth is dry you can do that.
Lives2Laugh I am with you on the ice cream. How about a coffee float.
Vicky glad your pain is down and you can do what you need around the house.
Hugs to all. 11 I bet you make it today so I am saying hello before you get here. Loved the deer in your yard. We had them last year and I watched them every morning. They came out like clockwork.
That's right............ Ice Cream. I can't wait.
@ktl86, I think you will find this group a great place to meet others who "understand". We all have chronic pain. This group changed my life. Good luck, and keep coming back.
I'll be back later.
David.
Today and the past few days I've way over done it trying to help my family with my Aunt who was moved to a nursing home on Father's Day for PT & has a pic line for bacterial infection that got into the bone of one of her fingers.
I was around & took her to the doc trying to prevent her from ever ending up in the hospital to begin with but the doctor wouldn't even prescribe an antibiotic even with her history of MRSA. I was so upset by all that has happened since.
Now my Grandma (89 w/ Alzheimer's who is able to still live at home w/ my Aunt and my Mom trying her best to care for them both) is so worried about my Aunt but refuses to even take a shower to be able to ride the 5min drive to see her daughter (my Aunt) is doing very well has worried herself sick & has started to want to stay in bed all the time. All this happened 1 1/2yrs ago & my Grandma got so weak, she ended up in the hospital & then a nursing home for what we thought was for good but she recovered physically & was doing so well until just recently.
Now I'm worried about my Mom & Grandma more than my Aunt.
Because I've over done it, I've had to physically drop the past few days. I haven't been able to really get out, do anything around the house to keep things up, & feel depression which is only making my pain worse.
I always try to be the cheery one here or the one who always tries to give positive advice or outlooks. Now I'm down and out.
I'm struggling to take care of me right now & with no help, not doing a good job at it.
David, I know how IF we sleep most nights, it feels more like a nap than a good nights sleep. I've done the worst by getting so exhausted that I end up falling asleep in my recliner not waking up til the next morning hurting worse bc of it. That's not good.
I guess I just needed to put my heart out there today and say; I hurt, I feel, & I'm here too.
I love you all & without this group, I'd be lost. Without God I'd be lost yet lately the demands of my family & now my own pain has kept me from going to church recently; the one place that gives me spiritual comfort to carry on or to be carried.
We all have bad days no matter how far we've come. I have been able to find more positive than negative in all aspects of life yet just going through a rough patch lately & missing my spiritual home too.
I guess lately I've just been hurting & feeling too much.
We do all fit in here. I've belonged to groups specific to my disease yet have found this one and the people in it have taught me more than any other & I've found some great friends here too.
I realized today I needed to reach out as I don't often do so when I need to until it gets this bad. I know that's not good for me either.
Hugs to you all for your love and support,
Rhonda
