Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
BooYah
This is Trish Tolamania from trichworld if you don't know (yes, I wrote the alias trying to be funny).
I had one pull free streak last November/December, the longest one I remember having ever. Checking in with this community was such a huge help, in order to achieve that. In February I started pulling again and, after a few lame attempts to slow it down, I gave up altogether and just started pulling again at will.
Now it's July 1, I am 3 days pull free and I just want to take it DAY BY DAY and get involved in this community again! I hadn't logged in for so long, when I did log in last week, I started crying hysterically. Isn't that funny?
My main goal right now is to reach 7 days pull free, then buy myself some really expensive hair product as a reward. But I know my main reward for stopping will just be FEELING GOOD AND NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT IT SO MUCH!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

no guilt!!
good job at keeping hands out of hair.
hugssss
Milestones:
One more month before I see my boyfriend.
Today is day 2 of my new pull free streak.
I have 15 pull free days total since June 28.
Oh, the other big milestone is that July 17th is my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF QUITTING SMOKING!! I have to do something on that day to celebrate. Maybe brag about it on facebook, but I feel weird about my parents seeing it (I don't think they ever knew I was that much of a smoker!)
Hugs instead of tugs for your beautiful tresses!
You can do this!
So glad you are feeling better today!
2 DAYS PULL FREE!! YIPPEEEEE

Good job on ticking some things off your list, feel great ha! Ah us procrastinators, life it hard for us!
Very exciting, have fun on your trip :)
Also congrats on 2 days pf, and 15 since June 28. Fantastic.
Woo!
I can't believe it's been a year either!!!! WHERE DID THE TIME GO????? I went back and read my entries on Trichworld when I first quit smoking. I'd like to think I have changed a lot as a person since then....
3 days pull free 100 percent pull free! Today, July 16th, is the 4th day. I have already fought off some urges and i have a feeling I will have to keep fighting them. I am tired, am getting my period, and feel generally gross and unmotivated.
.
yahoo 3 days pull free!! amazing job.
boo on periods. eat chocolate.

I think the first few months after quitting I was very nostalgic for smoking. I probably definitely gained some weight and I would get terrible urges. About two months after my official quit date, I allowed myself one cigarette for my birthday as a "treat." It was so disgusting I just couldn't take more than 2 puffs. I got sick and dizzy. That's when I knew I was really done with smoking -- it could just never give me any pleasure again.
I hope one day I will feel that way about my hair pulling rituals but I think secretly I will always love doing it and be longing to do it.
Anyway, phew!! Made it through today 100% pull free. I literally had to wrap my scarf around my head and chew on it as a barrier (thank god I'm not working in an office). My hand was in my head a lot, feeling the coarse hairs or rubbing my balding spots. But I didn't pull! Four days down!! I need to get to day 7 and buy myself some kind of treat -- an expensive hair thing -- or something! (I was gonna do that after I succeeded with my first 7 day pull free streak, but then I didn't cuz I decided to save the money).
Day 7, how I want to reach you!
Hurrah for what you do each day, keep your hands busy!
Depression sucks, and here's to keeping it squished up into a tiny star and throw it out into space to shine!
If I stay pull free today, it will be day 5. MUST REACH DAY 7!!!
My positive affirmations for today (I feel myself getting depressed again):
I am a capable person. I can do things even when I feel overwhelmed.
I can do my work.
I am a good writer.
Everything will be OK.
BREATHE...................................................
Congrats on the PFness!! You can do it, Trish! If you can stop smoking for a year you have proven that you've got major willpower and inner strength!! Enjoy your treat!
Love your positive affirmations. i'm sorry you are depressed. YOU WILL BE OK!!
