Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

This is Trish Tolamania from trichworld if you don't know (yes, I wrote the alias trying to be funny).
I had one pull free streak last November/December, the longest one I remember having ever. Checking in with this community was such a huge help, in order to achieve that. In February I started pulling again and, after a few lame attempts to slow it down, I gave up altogether and just started pulling again at will.
Now it's July 1, I am 3 days pull free and I just want to take it DAY BY DAY and get involved in this community again! I hadn't logged in for so long, when I did log in last week, I started crying hysterically. Isn't that funny?
My main goal right now is to reach 7 days pull free, then buy myself some really expensive hair product as a reward. But I know my main reward for stopping will just be FEELING GOOD AND NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT IT SO MUCH!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I just got out of a Skype chat with my boyfriend and feel depressed. You would have thought that talking to him would make me happy, but for some reason, it just reminded me that we don't talk anywhere near as often as I would like/is healthy, and that he has this new life going on in this other city that I just. Have. Nothing. To do with. To put it bluntly, I feel really left out, and I think that has made me really sad! And when I get sad, I get really bitchy with him. Guess we need..... TO COMMUNICATE MORE!
Some positive affirmations:
- I worked hard today.
- I worked hard not to pull out my hair.
- I feel good about my life.
- I have so many things to be grateful for!
I REALLY want to go home and mope, but I should definitely do something social. Right?
communication is the key !
WELL DONE FOR STAYING PULLFREE !!
I am really excited to be abroad! (Sam reminded me this is a public forum so I won't say where. It's nowhere super exotic). This is just like so what I needed for my life right now. CHANGE OF SCENERY! I really want to do some good work while I am here. Like Nike says, "just do it."
As a nail biter and I've been doing the same lately, I have found that when I put my thumbs to my cheek and push in, it takes away the urge to bite. At this point, I'm willing to do what it takes since those bluddy nubs are hard to work with.
I say, along with everyone else, get out, explore, enjoy the sights, and look at what you are accomplishing! It really does lift your spirit!
When it comes to communicating, the feeling of letting go after a conversation is hard to work with until you give yourself a reward for being positive. Yes, it's hard to end the conversation, however, the relationship is still there. It changes, and yes, you are changing as well.
Change of scenery gives you opportunity to be "YOU"!
Go for it! Keep your hands busy!
change of scenery is great . hehehe yay to being abroad!!
hugs
Congrats on 11 days! That's so awesome. You're the best!
That must be so hard doing the long distance thing with your boyfriend. When will he be back? I think taking off is a great move for you AND your relationship, he will see that you're having fun and miss you more.
Hope you went out and did something social!
Good job on the affirmations, that's something I haven't been doing and need to...
But I was being a little naughty. I was picking at my split ends a lot. Sometimes I would even chew my hair when stressed, or brush the tips against my mouth (gross, I know).
Yesterday, I was doing this thing for work that I just HATED and have BEEN DREADING, and I twisted a knot in my hair. This is basically the other way I will fuck up my hair -- I will twist these knots, and then make them worse trying to detangle them, and then finally the only way to get them out is to rip out a giant mound of hair.
So I could not detangle this damn knot, and finally I just brushed it out with a thick brush. It was like the most amount of hair that I have "pulled" from my head in 2 weeks. IT LOOKED SO SAD!
I have been keeping up with the stickers, even though I am traveling and not really following my old routine back home. So that is GOOD EFFORT on my part!
So, while yesterday I didn't really "pull" out the hair, I definitely was fucking around with my hair and twisted the knot. And really the behavior I would prefer to practice is just NOT messing with my at all.
So I decided to RESTART my pull free count. Today is DAY ONE!
At first I didn't want to restart because I was like oh god, this is such a huge failure and disappointment.....
But then I was like.... NO.
Restarting is GOOD!
It is EXCITING!
Because the first three days of a new 100 percent pull free streak, is when you are MOST ATTENTIVE TO BREAKING THE HABIT.
So here's to DAY ONE!!!! Fourteen days already under my belt!!!
My baby sis used to twist her hair too. It got really tangled and her finger would get caught in it and it would turn blue .
You are so right about the first 3 days bein most attentive. U can do this!! Look at ur beautiful sticker chart for motivation!!
Hugsss
Hugs!
I HAVE NOT BEEN PRODUCTIVE TODAY AT ALL.
ANYONE ELSE HAD AN EMBARASSINGLY UNPRODUCTIVE FRIDAY?
My excuse is that since i'm traveling, today I was like, I just want to do nothing today because I've had six days of overstimulation.
And as a result today I have basically done nothing except goof around on the Internets? SHOULD I FEEL GUILTY?
At least I have been keeping my hands out of my hair.
Keep those hands away from your head! You are doing great!
