Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

You can do this, hands down, hands down, pull-free, no hairs.
Stay strong!
You are right - we can't ever get complacent or let our guard down.
Mid - Thank you, your positive reinforcement helps :)
BKC - You're right, I don't need to. (Even though I want to..)

do you guys have zumba over there?
Yes. Yes we do.
BLEHHHH
I sometimes get the lashes or eyebrow urge....ick....horrid...the lashes one tends to be at the end of the day when my eyes are tired, especially if I am wearing mascara - am pretty good at resisting though - I like make up too much. Just ride out the urges as you would a head hair one.....i think its your body redirecting the urges - I guess they will always be there but if we deal with them they may get less strong x
Blow it off!!!
167 days pf.. Woop! I will try not to "straighten" kinky hairs today. I don't want any more breaking off, and it's a nasty habit.
and YES zumba is EVERYWHERE. i havent tried it, but i want to! it seems so fun, but id probably just make a complete fool of myself- oooooh well!
hey, straightening is better than pulling! consider every hair not pulled an accomplishment, regardless of whether or not you straightened it!
Stay strong.
I get the same urges to pull elsewhere. Don't do it. Hands down!
How are the urges today? good to avoid straightening the hairs - I keep running my hands in my hair and feeling the hairs, not doing anything with them but just touching....hmmmm HANDS DOWN!!!! Xx
