I received an email from a client today which I'm so happy about, I'm trying to secure a big job with a new company, and hadn't heard back form my contact for a few days. He finally wrote back today, phew!

Inspired by Phoebe I want to start knitting (I've done it before, years ago). I'm going to get my mum to give me a refresher.. Otherwise my boyfriend's grandma can help me I'm sure.

Thanks mid!! I'm going to attempt to knit two beanies for my two good friends who are married. They are going on a trip to North Korea and China soon, and they have this cute thing about owls. I'm going to try to knit them matching owl beanies (cable made owl with button eyes) (it's going to be VERY cold there).

I have just spent 3 and a half hours procrastinating doing work.. Oh dear. Been on etsy.. (Vintage and hand made items sold online). Bought two amazing pairs of boots.. Can't wait to get them in the mail!!!! Ok, now to work.

So, I hate to give you another reason to procrastinate (well, not really, bc it's so worth it)... you need to go onto www.ravelry.com You have to join up, but that's easy. Then you can view an endless choice of things knitta. I know the owl hat that you speak of. I have the owl sweater in my favorites and in my queue. Knitting has saved my hair, I swear. I'm never in front of the TV without knitting in my hands.

Thanks Phoebe, I did check it out and that's how I found the owl pattern but converting american patterns is too much of a hassle for me. Why can't you turn metric? WHY???????? Hehe. I'm going to try to find an Australian alternative...

Yes Firante, etsy is the best best best. Mmm. Shipping costs me a fortune though. I bought a pair of boots for $16 and the shipping was $17. Damn! And thanks for your congrats!! :) It's funny though, the longer I go, the less long it feels like? Ok that wasn't even grammatically correct.

I don't have my conversion sheet with me, however, when I find it, I will look to see how we adjusted the counts. I know, I know, metric and standard are just a smigdeon off each other, but, it's remembering which way to go with the counts, up or down. We have two sets of tools in the garage, and I end up having to try two or three of them to find the right size.
You can do the hands down cheer- tapping the top of your legs with a rythmn. I do that now in front of the computer to help me.

Yes, the US is holding out & not likely to convert to metric. Canada converted when I was a teenager, but is still only 3/4 of the way there. It was too late for me to wrap my head around it, but I have my metric conversion formula stuck to my pinboard. 1cm=.394in / 1in=2.54cm Plus I have a conversion widget on my dashboard.

105 days pull free!!! I think I'm going to make little goals every 5 days, so when I reach them I get some kind of reward.. Not sure what the reward would be. Hm! Something inexpensive and not time consuming. Maybe watching a movie with my big blanket and pillows. I never do that but it's one of my favourite things to do alone. And why not make today one of the days I get a reward, it's a multiple of 5! Except I have no time to do that today! Ha.

I know it's not ok Phoebe .. It's weird. A good reminder for me is to let my hair out of my bun and look at it in the mirror. I hardly ever get visual urges to pull my hair. (Apart from seeing a root I guess). Looking at all of my damage and growth is a huge reminder of how much I want to stop this behavior and not be trapped by it any more. STUPID BRAIN!
