Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Hair is dyed, now I have no visual temptation. And if I can keep my hands down there is no tactile temptation..
Mmmmm lazy Saturday.
69- Woodstock, I'm borned -69. Love the music from that period, but I think it's a good thing I wasn't a teenager or a young woman back then. I'm pretty sure I would have tried everything and with my addictive-obsessive-personality it would be a disaster.
You are doing great!!
Hug.
Hehe, thanks gorgeous xo
Have you rubbed your fingertips together on the nail side? I have done this when the other techniques did not give me pleasant sensation, and it helps me. I do this when I get the urge to cry "at the drop of a hat". I am now on zoloft for acute anxiety, so the urge to cry is much less.
Enjoy your Saturday!
Thank you for your encouragement! It truly helps!

What color are you dying it?
Alex my hair is rather dark also. It's naturally dark brown, with slightly lighter highlights and red tones in the sun. I used to always pull out the white hairs too, but there were so many I didn't let myself too often, so dying it was the safe option!!
Kirstin I've been dying my hair since I was about 13..... Ha! I used to dye it with rinses; auburn, plum, brighter reddy pink tones.. Now I dye it with permanent dye to cover up the white hairs (pretty much my natural colour). When I get my hair cut in ten million years, I want to get some very subtle highlights. OH my GOSH I can't even think about how exciting that day will be, if the stylist doesn't eff it up! Ha I'll be choosing stylists very carefully..
