With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Oof struggling a bit more today. I actually played with my hair for a couple of minutes and a hair came out while I was playing. I didn't put pull on it but singling it out was enough for it to come out. Not a pull but not acceptable behaviour at all. No more playing! I am more aware now.

Ok, 6 days pull free! I'm on day 7. WHAT???! Ha it's hilarious, I think back to my 8 month pf streak where I would never have been so excited by 6 days. But a lot has happened since then. A lot of shite, and I've gotten through it stronger. WOW, that sounded so lame. Forgive me!

Wow I"m on day 8. Craaaaaazy! My next goal is 2 weeks. But my real goal is towards the end of the year, because I want to be able to style my hair however I WANT on my wedding day! Ha, yes I'm engaged :)

    My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending.  She said that there are needs and there are wants.  She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it?  The answer is mostly "no".  So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed.  I also bought sheets that I don't need...
