You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

It's still hard at the moment. Boo. My therapist gave me a guided meditation cd, I should really listen to it. I think meditation is possibly key to my success.

19 days pull free! Cant believe I forgot to log on yesterday and the day before. So naughty of me. Have to remain ever vigilant. Must not play with hair. I've barely touched my hair at all these past 19 days though so that's good, I need to keep that up.

I think its better if we not touch our head. I try and stay aware of when my hand goes to my hair and put it down. It starts the crawly feeling even if one hair is pulled so I think we should make this a goal to stick with..

My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending. She said that there are needs and there are wants.
