With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I haven't had a completely pull free day in such a long time. Months.

I've hit the point where it's do or die. My wedding is coming up fast and I have the power to look how I want.

Barriers are on today. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Created a new sticker chart for June and hung it up. YAY! 4 days pf so 2 stickers for each day. To recap, I get a smiley if I pull 0-3 hairs a day. And a star if I'm 100% pf. Well I decided instead of giving myself just a star for being 100% pf I deserve two stickers, so I get a smiley AND a star. YAY!!!!!!!!!

I love the sticker chart too mid. It's a GREAT tool. It does require a bit of effort but so worth it.

i like to reward myself for being pull-free by treating my hair to some deep conditioning... hahah! i dont know if that's your thing, but a suggestion. i like my rewards to be both good for my hair and good for me.

Hm interesting idea! Yes perhaps a new shampoo/conditioner (have been thinking of getting sulphate free) would be good.

confident, i highly recommend getting sulfate-free! within a month, i had really noticeable differences. i've been using some good quality stuff from whole foods. not sure if there's a whole foods by you, but if you search online, there are a few brands (and im speaking about the US) that i'd recommend, like nature's gate, that you can get delivered to your house.

    My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending.  She said that there are needs and there are wants.  She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it?  The answer is mostly "no".  So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed.  I also bought sheets that I don't need...
