Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

EXERCISE IS AWESOME. Hehe I just started lifting weights again and I love it. So go!
You've got this, whatever it takes!
Emmy has the right idea!!!!
However today is a new day and I"m pull free as of midnight last night. Almost 12 hours, yay me!
:)
Thanks so much emmy. I am in control, I just wish I was a little more motivated!
Thanks Mid, you're right, getting up and moving around really does help.
I washed my hair today and didn't put cover up on. I looked in the mirror and wah, I still need to wear a little. I really want to get a haircut ASAP, it's been over a year. But I'll feel soo self conscious getting it done. So many mirrors, lights, wet hair and people touching it. Aaaargh!!! I feel like I should just be brave and go and get it done. Not give a shit about what others think. Half an hr of unpleasantness and then new haircut! I want to get a lot chopped off, it's below my shoulders and I want it short again.
Ughhh. Ugh. Ugh. I think I'm talking myself into it.
Let us know how your haircut turns out :)
Oh and I'm on day 1 again.
Each day is a new beginning, without numbers, without this project, so every time we move forward, it's a new step. You're doing wonderful, be you, and be good to your self! You've got this, even if it takes a ball bat to swing the tresses to the sky! You are doing it!
Hugs instead of tugs!
Wavering in the breeze, a wispy wisp.
I must stay AWARE and STRONG!
Day 1. Oh I bought stickers to start making my chart but they're all wrong, I want gold stars not multicolored smileys. I thought it wouldn't matter but it does. Also I was thinking of buying slightly bigger/more special stars for the days that are really hard but I still pull though. Excited about my chart!
I put a glitter day for something special, whether or not I meet my goal, just for keeping up with it, and it worked, because I looked at the days, and was able to see what you're seeing! Excitement!
You got this! So proud of you, hang in there on the rope of hope! Hugs!!!!!
Day 1 again, lalala! Pf for 3.5 hrs so far.
Ugh today not so good. I decided to be more lenient on myself, but I think I have been TOO lenient!
That middleground is so hard to find..
Just keep trying, just keep trying, just keep trying..!
1 hair pulled today.
Nabby is right - one day at a time. Stopping at one hair is an accomplishment in itself.
