Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

So proud of you for working for the stickers. You're strong, you're staying with it, hurrah for you!
Whatever it takes, go for it!
I'm proud to say you deserve a sticker for helping me with this process!
Thanks Mid :)
Keep trying, you can do this!! You've done it so many times before without the stickers :)
hugs!!
As for yourself, stay strong- sounds like you are doing well. Try to change a little bit of your routines in the house, this always distracts me from pulling or even thinking about it. Hugs...
I completely forgot about the motivating sticker chart. I am goingto buy some paper and start doing it again too. I;ll have to start hour by hour. yay for 6 stickers in 2 weeks. I need this motivation.
BIG HUG!!
p.s thanks for the msg on fb. xoxoxox
Good idea.. house thing.
No sticker today, wah!!! Or yesterday!! Mini pulling sprees both days. Tomorrow I"ll put on bandaids, I forgot today.
And have pulled about 6 in bed this morning. Ugh. Woke up pretty sad. My life is in an odd turning point and as terribly pathetic as it sounds, I'm a little lost. Questioning which path I should get on. I know I need to choose one soon! Or do I? Life advice please, as general as that is! This is regarding career and lifestyle, not relationships by the way.
Bleh.
Thanks Nabby :)
I give myself a sticker at the end of every day for the one thing I do - because it is a success. I know, we do this just for our tresses, so doing something good does help our tresses in some way.
I agree with Nabby, writing in a journal, doing lists ( I do both), just putting pen to paper or in this new technology age, finger to the pad, works to create a connection with your brain, body, and boosts your "feel good" levels.
Hugs, and you're doing wonderful!
Thanks for your advice :)
I'm trying, but not very hard. I must try harder. I want to, I'm just being lazy.
If it makes you feel any better, you are totally not alone. I am also at a crossroads in my life (life/career wise) and just feeling confused about things and constantly bad about myself. That's life.... all we can do is keep going forward. I think it is the natural thing that happens when you are in your mid-20s. In astrology they call it the return of Saturn (although I think that's technically the late 20s).
