Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Day 19.....You can do it...keep focused...Hugs
Nabby - how interesting. That's a lovely idea, but what about when the ground is frozen? Haha heading into winter here in my part of the world. Now what I meant about conflicting ideas is this. Some people swear that yoghurt and oats is an awesome healthy breakfast. People who follow a paleo diet and people who follow anti inflammatory diets completely disagree, and say those foods do usmore harm than good. We are told milk is an awesome food but then again paleo + others disagree. Grains make us strong - no grains inflame.. You see what I mean? Of course everyone with an opinion thinks their opinion is right. I'm more inclined to believe your beliefs, I've read a fair bit about it. It's just so decking confusing!!!! Why can't science and mainstream society catch up to "the hippies"? Is it all about money? Ok now I'm really ranting. SO don't want to start a debate here...

Congrats on your 20 days! You are the pull-free champion.
Hehe champion! I like the sound of that :)
If I don't touch, I can't be tempted. If I don't FEEL the hair I don't WANT to pull a hair. If I don't want to pull a hair then I won't become super anxious and frustrated.
So lesson is;
DON'T TOUCH.

You can make it to three weeks! You are strong, keep strong!
Here's to your success, whatever it takes, to finding the inner strength that can beat trich at its worst point!
Hugs!
Me too mid! Just can't imagine going out without my socks and shoes! Really though, that's how I relax. I feel a strong connection to nature and I love being outdoors. My favorite place is the beach and the ocean but I love hanging out on my front porch too. Lots of plants around and grass below and bush on the horizon, well behind the opposite row of houses. Picnics are the best! I love bushwalks in the blue mountains (where I live) as there's birds, waterfalls and quiet.
Rambling again...
