You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

3 days pf, day 4! Mustn't touch hair. I feel like my hair is really loose at the moment.. Er know what I mean? Even if I just reach up to smooth my hair, one might come out. It's not falling out or anything but does anyone else feel like sometimes their hair comes out really easily?

When I had longer hair, I definitely noticed periods where I lost more hair than usual.. Don't worry about it, I think it's natural :)

It's just weird. Sometimes I can play with a strand (yeah I know, naughty) and it won't come out, but lately every hair I touch comes out in my fingers. No this is not happening much at ALL (the touching my hair) but it's just weird! I'm not even foraging for good ones.. Just randomly reaching up and smoothing down a hair/ some hair.

Anyway.. 4 days pull free!!

Sam, I had that same thing with the "loose" hair. It felt like it wasn't attached and would just slide right out! When I play with my hair (and sometimes pull) it's usually in the same general area that was new growth, so maybe that was why. I was happy to not have that satisfying trich sensation when the hair was pulled.

Day 5 is awesome!! Almost done and then on to day 6!

Yes, except I love the feeling! It's ever so slight, barely noticeable, but, for me it's like a "gateway drug" LOLZ!!!!
