With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Thanks girlies!! At the end of day 3. I must admit I kiiiiinda pulled 2-3 teensy barely attached baby hairs. Poor hair babies, not sure if they even would of had a long life had I not played with them. Why do some grow back so weak? Oh DUH, probably cos they've been pulled so many times before. Hm.

Anyway I'm gonna say today was a success and "technically" pull free (yeah yeah, technically schmecnically). Was riDICulously hung over today. Omffffffg. And my boy went out tonight so it was just me and the tv, ohhhh the triggers! Wearing my beanie right now.

There will be no accidents tomorrow, it will not be tolerated by me!! I will have to start over.

Day 3----Next time you feel the urge get a ice pack for your head. Put some lavender essential oil on the spot and aloe vera gel...this helps soooo much. Do you have a hair tingler? It is so wonderful this just kills the urge and feels so relaxing too. Look for it online where to find one. Hugs...

Ice in winter! Um maybe not. I can get how it'd work though. Aloe, too goopy, no thanks. Lavender, maybe, though I hate the smell! I do have a fine tooth comb near by that I use when I get an urge. It really helps. Kinda the same principle as a hair tingler. Thanks fir the ideas :)
