You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Eek, I'm really motivated ever since I decided to join your one month challenge. GRR, knowing we're doing it together helps, and a big goal like a month somehow helps too. A goal of a day isn't very exciting sometimes.

A bigger goal helps me to get through those first days, cause I don't want to mess up a one month challenge at day 1 or 2.. :p I'm glad it's helping you as well :)
I'm gonna use some extra barriers to make sure I don't have to stop my self last minute when I'm about to pull or pick!

For me right now, it's not like I"m feeling this awful urge before I pull, it's more out of habit then "shit!"

Keep your hands as busy as possible, I was studying today with a marker in one hand and a pen in the other..
In Dutch I'd say you can do this with two fingers in your nose, but the English equivalent appears to be with one hand tied behind your back.. I have to admit that I prefer our saying :p
