  It is now 8 and a half months since I lost my dad.  Now it will be his birthday in 2 weeks' time and I don't know what to do.  Normally I would be getting him a big card, planning his favourite foods and shopping for a gift.  Now I can't walk past a men's shop and not tear up, I can't buy his favorite pastries even for mom.  I peeked into his bedside drawers now in my room, and can't bear to move any of his things.I've somehow moved from being traumatically grieving to being sad, to being a...

  Thanks Lilly for posting all those hints - you're my superhero - now I can hope to use these techniques and not end up with a blank mind! It feels so horrible sometimes I feel I'll just suffocate myself, but I know now to distract myself ...

  Hi, I'm new here and don't even know if I'm having panic attacks.  My dad suffered a lot last year and passed away at the hands of some extremely cruel doctors and nurses (because we have universal healthcare here and they're cutting costs like crazy).  I believe they murdered him through deprivation of water and food (he was crying for this) and numerous shots of morphine till he could no longer talk and swallow.I have PTSD from flashbacks usually before sleeping and take Benedryl to help me...
