  I don't exactly understand why but this is such a hard time of the month for me.  Every month for the last 8 years around the 15th through the 20th of the month my PTSD flares up.  It tends to settle back down a couple days later, but I am back to having night terrors, trouble sleeping, and being jumpy and edgy.  This month I actually forgot about the calendar date unti I woke up from a bad dream and saw the date.  My doctor said that this just happens to some people.  Some have yearly...

  I'm feeling really down tonight.  On the outside, I had a wonderful day.  Spent time with my new puppy, went out to lunch with one of my best friends, got my hair cut, went out to dinner....so why do I feel so down.  Most people would think my description would be an awesome day and I did enjoy and love so much of it!  But my PTSD reared its head so much that it stole a lot of the joy.  While I was enjoying lunch with my friend and chatting with my hairstylist, there was this huge part of...

  Does anyone else every feel weak or like they are a failure for not being able to control their PTSD symptoms better?  I know that I am more heightened right now with tomorrow being the anniversay of everything, but I still have these feelings, like somehow I should be stronger.  My therapist says this is normal and that you can't control your nervous system.  I have been doing grounding exercises, going on walks, and practicing self-care, just trying to breathe through the next couple of...
