Fireworks :( PTSD, also 2 panicked pets...........

I HATE fireworks! For 7 1/2 years i lived in town across the street from the lake they set off the 4th of the july city wide ones and had neighbors non stop setitng them off all week. I THOUGHT this year being in the country would not have that issue. Well we got a panicking me and cat and dog! My poor fiance!  I can not go to sleep with them going off. The nearest neighbor is a about a quarter mile other than my moms house which is on the same 80 acres as us. I HATE loud noises!!!!!!!! My dog and cat are both hiding, dog under the bed, cat im not sure where but i KNOW shes in the house. She was on the bed with me both were until the fireworks went off half hour ago. I hope they stop soon :( I do not like this i have not been anxious like this in a month since we got madeline our cat!I took 1mg of klonopin at night which i took but its not helping. i hate this!!!!!!!!

Aww yea my guy’s uncomfortable too, as well as me.
I hope you guys can get some rest even if you have to sleep in late, or take it easy tomorrow. That’s my plan, I have no doctors appointments tomorrow so I feel like me & Baby will be resting during the day.

Thank you, Matt works in the morning so dont get to sleep in, but i can always go back to bed after the alarm goes off. I only slept about 2 1/2 hours last night. I hope htey are almost done with them!

I understand completely... its kicking my ptsd off real bad!.... I'm extremely gun shy and fireworks are no different... I hope can get some rest.... hugs

i think of the 4th and new year's eve as bonding time for my pets and i. we spend all the fireworks days snuggled up together in hidey holes, grateful for one another's company. yes, my pets, humans are weird. we're safe here.

then we get to the myths of "country life. . ." people are people, wherever you go.

amen, mel. personally, i keep my windows rolled up and my doors locked when i drive through "country" towns. too many of those folks good reasons to live where there is no one close enough to hear the screams.

fiber optics reached my dust bowl farm this past spring.

the big city has arrived.
progress is as good a name for ^it^ as any.

Thanks everyone, i know tonight will be even worse ugh....... I barely slept for 2 nights now . I need rest ugh. My ulcers are back after about 3 y ears of being off carafate and doing well. I can barely eat or drink anything. I see my Dr weds. This doenst help when i dont sleep and the no caffeine being tolerated is causing a bad migraine today. ugh

Its only 5 minutes before 7 pm, fire works have been going off since 630 and its raining lightly... no clue why setting them off in day light but its making my pets nad me very upset

I would love to get back to a time where I can enjoy the beauty of a fireworks show without it bringing up horrible reminder of the past. I had actully fallen asleep tonight and woke up to the sound. Felt like I was going to have a heart attack for a moment. My new puppy did great, but my older dog was so very nervous. We got her settled and she is now happy in her crate and thankfully the fireworks are done with for the night. I, like I'm sure many of you, get a lot of anxiety going into the 4th and a wave of peace comes over me when it's over.

I don't like them for the terrible impact they have on animals and especially wildlife... Mother's will leave their babies they're so frantic and can't find their way back to them at times they're so afraid

I just find them unnecessary and harmful

Oh Angelo, so sorry, the Fireworks are loud. I saw it through my window looking towards the beach. The only good thing for me it is that I am hard of hearing therefore the loudness is cut in half.
I have a provider who told me that her dog went nuts too. It is sad, sending you support

Mel yes its so hard on pets and animals and anyone that struggles with PTSD.

SunCloud same here even more than how it affects me i worry about all the animals. When we had horses we had one almost go thru the electric fence when firework were going off :( Had to lock her in the barn.

rose i can watch them on tv because i can control the sound! I hate seeing my pets and other pets and animals in the wild get so upset, also so many pets are missing from our area mostly dogs that people let out unleashed or not fenced in during the dang fire work, the should not own a pet if they will do that to them on the 4th or anytime when its loud like that!

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
