I am a retired government employee. I have worked in emergency management, public safety support and other government related operations. I was also a martial arts instructor for many years teaching adults, children, law enforcement and victims of violent crimes. I have anxiety, depression and PTSD. I am always on edge, am bothered by noise, especially any sudden loud noise and have difficulty trusting people. I struggle with nightmares, insomnia, flashbacks, disassociation and self-harm. I have survived; childhood abuse. A random shooting, An attack resulting in me stabbing the attacker. Two major car accidents as a passenger resulting in a shattered lower spine, nerve damage, fractured neck and other disabilities. Death after a blind epidural, A hostile work environment and events related to emergency management.
