Struggling medically, Ozempic harming me as well!!

Hey all, wanted to check in becuase I do not think i did at all this week. Not sure when i was last one. I am on I tHINK day 13 of my migraine. Did a medrol dose pack, did nothing for my migraine just made me miserable with blood sugars spiking and then crashing hard like crazy. Also am having very severe reactions to my ozempic and i did not realize how bad until thrusday afternoon when i could not stop shaking even when my sugar was not low. I already struggled to eat before i went on it and i been at 1mg (third dose going up) for about 3 months now and i have non stop lows lately that are exxtremely hard to bring up. Long story short i barely been eating for a few months now, The pharmacist yesterday when i called said that even though my PCP was not in to talk to the nurse for the Dr above herwhich i did and i do NOT take any more ozempic for now my Dr has a message marked URGENT to call me about it adn waht i told her. Talked to the pharmacy twice more between yesterday and today and the just is it i am pretty much malnourised from it because i can barely eat for awhile now and alreayd strugged with eating. I never should have been on it, which i did request my Dr put me on it and she was a bit hesitent but decided we could try it. I will NOT be taking it ever again the phamracy already told me you do not need to wean off it and it takes a bit to get all the way out ofyou, its a once a week shot but has a longer life in you. Plus the longer your on it the more it works. I have not had any short acting insulin in idont know how many days and for 48 hours i also did ntohave my long acting due to i could not keep my sugars up. I have been told by two pharmacists i need to do what ever i can to get nutrition in me right now and electolytes. I have been where i am just shakign visibly sincethursday. It is a bit better tonight but not gone. I am on a 3 med combo for my migraine for a week, strated it yesterday, and one of the meds is phenergan. I am on zofran ODT 8mg 2 to 3 times a day, always at least twice due to my trintellix and caplyta otherwise make me very nausted and i will get sick if i dont take zofran first. Well i have only been takign the phenergan but i have been really struggling to get foodin me due to nausea so Matt called the pharmacy they said every 4 to 6 hours i can alternate the two nausea meds safely. I am so glad i have a good pharmacy! I also have not been sleeping. Last night i laid down around midnight (under a ton of stress but thats another whole thing) and i passed right out before even taking any meds i take before bed and never took my lunesta. I was out until mom called at 7am and wentback to sleep around 830 until after 11am. I NEVER sleep like thatbut my body said thesteroids areout of me and i need sleep NOW!
Sorry i have not been checking in but have just been so miserable and sick between the migraine and ozempic and suspsted thatthe ozempic causing the migraine due to malnutrition. Also just ate dinner Matt made homemade stroganoff and i also mixed a premier protein shake, Pharmacist said that would help me due to the nutrition in it as well and to mix it with milk (lactose free for me!) It is helping! Still have nausea and my stomach hurts after eating but i would rather that than to be shaking and dizzy where i can barely walk to the bathroom. I am so glad Matt doenst work on the weekend! My pain has been really bad as well and i have dealt with IBS C BAD the past 9 months non stop, well this week my IBS D is back since about tuesday night i think? Oh and i am losing half a pound a day, My shrink said i lost 14 pounds in just under a month. Now i figure dout why when Mom and Matt were trying to help me figure out what i eat all day when Matts at work. Matt was at Moms thrusday after work to drop off her meds and she sent home food for me to eat right away, i had to stop shaking. No blood sugar lows today and also noneed for short acting insulin! Pharmacist said only take any if i stay 200 and up which i only hit 200 once not long after eating and it came back down to 145within an hour. I take only about a quarter of my normalinsulin and i still drop so were trying not to take any short acting right now unless i would stay very high and then only small amounts at a time not my normal large amounts.
BTW I HATE DIABETES!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for yelling but i am so sick and tired of diabetes right now, the shots, thepoking myself, the dexcom is a life saver but tis still a pain! The meds everything! The highs and lows like crazy I just am over it. I am sick of feeling sick! NOrmally i dont complain about being diabetic but right now with howsick i am due to the med for it I am just SO sick!
Also the pharmacist said noone should go on ozempic if they had a past eating disorder ( i did from 14 until 35 I am almost 40 now) and if you already struggle to eat enough which i do struggle to eat before on it, every since i had that UTI last year for 6 months straight! Oh and i FINALLY got a clear UTI test its finally gone! First i had two types of staph then 3 types of staph but its finally gone!!!!! I am also most of the time really cold and normally i am hot all the time! But after eating like now when the nausea really hits i start getting very hot!
Please if you take ozempic or wnat to try it PLEASE be careful! The pharmacy is finding more and more people having issues with it and it is too new to know all about it! Also someone who is on it just for weight loss its even more risky than if you are diabetic so PLEASE be careful!!!!!!

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I've kept it off, too. My surgeon predicted that like his other patients I would hit a bottom, and then regain 10 pounds. Just like clockwork, that's what I did, getting down to 207 pounds two years ago and then rebounding to 217 pounds where I've stayed easily ever since.
I had to take a nutrition class before they would allow me the surgery. I blew it off at first, and so the nutrition class professor made me wait a whole extra year before qualifying me for my 2018 surgery.
She was right to do that, because she finally made me completely change what I ate. Moving to Mexico really helped me with good nutrition, too, believe it or not, because here they eat natural, organic foods rather than the processed foods so common back in the USA. That's really helped.
I've heard about how Ozempic has become the latest thing up in the States, but if it's that bad for you please take good care of yourself, my friend. For diabetics like you and me there's not a lot of room for error with stuff like that. Sending you support.
What a week you've had!!
Diabetes is such a serious illness
I really feel for both of you
Sending big hugs...xo
Muji, so true diabetes can turn deadly quick, i know too well! A friend lost her fiance a bit over a year ago. 2 or so years ago he got gangrene from not taking care of his sugars, first they removed his foot, well it was not all gone, went below the knee, still not gone had to go above the knee. A bit over a year ago he passed away complications from diabetes. Not doing what he needed to to control his sugars :( Its been so hard on her.
I have been diabetic right about 8 years, was this time of year that it was found, i had only been seeing my current PCP a couple months and I could not stop getting UTIs she found out i had not had my A1C checked in over 5 years. I was struggling bad with depression so she contacted my shrink since i had an appointment with him, at this point my Eating disorder was bad, i would either not eat or purge anything i ate (no binging i could even eat just a salad and purge) and he sat down and saw me for 2 1/2 hours! Mom knew something was up becuase she was in the car waiting for me. I was also so very badly depressed at that point.
I have taken my diabetes VERY seriouis since the first day, we tried just testing my sugar and controllign by diet for a week but after only 3 days my sugars wouldnot get out of the upper 300s and into the 400s, my sugar was over 400 when diabetes was discovered. We then tried 2 different oral meds, first metformin then januvia, both very very bad reactions, Then we went to lanuts and for a bit i did good on just that. Before I got covid in 202s in december on teh 9th, it was 2 days after our puppies were born. i did not use nearly as much insulin as now, but after having covid, my asthma disappeared, but my diabetes got much worse. its so hard to manaage lately but its due to lows not highs. its so frustrating! i was referred to weight loss surgeon but my health makes it risky especially because i already take 15 supplements twi being prescription because of the high doses i need my body does not absorb them from food right.
SunCloud hugs! yes diabetes is no joke and im just worn out from it!
That's why it scared me so to have neuropathy pain in my feet that sent me wheelchair bound three times last year. I"m so grateful I haven't been wheelchair bound even once in 2024 so far. What a blessing!
I am really careful every time clipping my toenails so I don't end up like your friend's fiancee. Thanks for your support with my diabetes along with my PTSD, it really helps.
Pain is still very severe but I am finally sitting up in the living roomin a recliner at moms. We are staying with her for the next week so she feels more comfortable alone with the new puppies. BTW 5 girls was the final amount :) I am hoping and praying my pain is better tomorrow, i can not stand being like this. Thisis the first time in 3 days i could sit up more than 15 mins, i am sick of being in bed! I saw the first and last puppies born, the first one she screamed in pain but it had VERY bighips and was a big puppy, each one got easier, the last one she didnt even know it came out until we showed her! the third one she didnt seem to havea ny pain even mom said just the firsttwo. I will be posting photos!
Congrats on the puppies! My poodle is pregnant, and her puppies are due in 3 weeks, so I'm hoping their birth goes as well as the birth in your house has gone. Looking forward to the photos!
