  My birthday was this past week, hurray. I came home to a flower delivery, with a note attached--"Everyone deserves flowers on their birthday. Happy Birthday Anna. -The past" It came off as a nice gesture, followed by a passive aggressive ending. Which led to me being bitter and angry and wanting to call him and just yell. Why was I angry? Maybe becase he ended it with "the past" - like I wasn't already aware that we were done. Maybe because it's te first birthday in 10 years where he wasn't...

  He messaged, and I called. I cried, and we hung up. I'm sitting in bed now  wishing I never replied. He's hurting- except I feel like I'm hurting more. It isn't like it's a contest - Who gets over who first or who stops hurting first; but it feels like i'm losing either way.His voice use to sound so familiar and now, it's different; like I was talking to someone who I just met.
