Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
It's been about 3 months now & I can say things are definitely better.
I can sleep through the night, I'm back to being my foodie self lol.
Time does truly heal, not staying you'll get over it tomorrow or next week or next month but you'll definitely feel better about things.
Second, find a good therapist. You really need someone to talk to. Most people find that once their friends get all the juicy details, they don't want to hear anymore about your divorce. That's where this board comes in. You can talk to your heart's content here and pretty much say whatever you feel. We are all right there with you. That's where the therapy comes in too. My therapist has been AMAZING. There have been many weeks that all that got me through it was knowing I had an upcoming appointment. I also schedule therapy appointments for right after all lawyers' meetings because I know I will really need that immediate purge and refocus.
I don't necessarily believe that time heals. I've known people who only seem to become more and more bitter over their divorces as time goes on, especially if they perceive themselves to have been the victim. I'm not saying this is you, but only that I don't believe there is anything magic about the passing of time without doing the work required to heal.
