Noname - loving her is just as good of a motive to come clean as loving yourself enough to commit to being honest and lie-free. Doing this for yourself will give you strength you never knew you had for yourself. Trust me, it's worth it, even as daunting as it may seem.

Hi, My names Ian, and I'm a habitual liar, I only recently accepted this and realised that I have been lying as a reflex for a while now.I dont know why I do it but I want to manage and change my behaviour. My name is Ben and I am a liar. I have been lying all my life. it only recently came to the worst when My wife caught me in yet another lie. and she is now contemplating divorce. I love her and my family more then anything and seeing how much I have hurt her and so many others in the past with my lies has lead me to this group. this is my rock bottom looking for a place to live because she doesnt want me in the house. as well as she doesnt even want to be in the same room as me she tells me when she sees me she just gets enraged and wants to choke me. not only is she the love of my life she is my best friend. having the backlash from the families is another topic in its self. I am committed to the change and I am going to change I have been completely honest with myself as well for 6 days now and it feels good.

noname if I can get you any advice if you truly love her you have to sit her down and come completely clean. if I have learned anything from my situation honesty is always better then a lie even if it pisses someone off. trust me I was in the same boat as you and had the same reasons for lying to my wife. if she catches one of your lies you could be in the same spot I am and let me tell you. you do not want that. It will still be hard and suck she will be pissed however; it is better to find out from you then any other way. just my advice hope it helps.

Thanks SMD. I missed my meeting tonight. Got caught up & was talking to people a little to much. I may go to the meeting up in Augusta on Thursday though. Sorry everyone for not checking in. I hvae been dealing with a lot of personal issues.

Im checking in. It's been a while but I'm lie free. I've been having a hard time lately though. Not with telling the truth just with me saying the truth and the person I care about not believing me. It's tough it really is. I can swear up and down everything that I'm not lying but she doesn't believe me. I'm having a hard time emotionally. I feel like I'm breaking down with my emotions. I don't really sleep well and I feel almost depressed when this happens.

Hi. Saying hello. I'm a compulsive liar. I lie nearly constantly about anything. My lying has damaged my marriage terribly. I've been honest for three hours.

I should add that my wife has been very supportive. She's been helping me on the road to my recovery, even though my lying has been very abusive to her.
