Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
This is what it's all about. Is this a perfect group?......No. If it was I would probably not be here. There are times, that you've probably seen, that some have differences of opinions.
I'm glad you're here. I also checked out other sites and found this one to be the most real. I'll say to you that this is a great place, with great people. Welcome!!!
David.
Welcome to the group. Give the good folks here a chance to offer support and if you, or anyone else wants to start a topic, that would be great.
I am excited and I offer congratulations to the new folks and those who were just looking. This site changed my life.
David.
Keep 'em coming!!!
David.
I really like this site and I have checked out some others out there and it just did not have IT, you know where you feel comfortable and sure in the beginning it feels odd sharing with people who you dont know that much but after a little bit it will be like old friends and the more the merrier.
Well we are almost at 100 and I bet by midnight we will be.
have a great night and a good morning too
It makes me sad to think that someone may hesitate to post because they feel like they wouldnt belong here...
Please ... we really are here to support you...we understand...
Jump on in! :)
i am here to day happy because tooth pain better eventhough knee hurts some
thanks for always being here
Oh well today isn't the day that i will be pain free, but I guess I'll depend on my good friends at this group to perk me up.
Karsu,
Thank you for that great post.
We have some long time folks that have posted since last night, manny123, lladyfairhair, and Pamela56. It's great to see all ya'll.
How about today we get this thing over 100 and let's use this to strengthen and assist each other. If anyone has a question or would like to share a little about themselves.
I slept pretty good last night but tossed and turned for a while. Couldn't quite find a comfortable spot. I dream every night, but I have a hard time remembering my dreams. There are also times when I wake up and I say, "Boy, I'm glad that was only a dream." It almost seems like I'm so active in my dreams that it makes me wake up tired. Either that or I've only slept 4 hours.
Thanks to all who are sharing. Let do it!!
I know it can feel a bit daunting for some people to take the step from being a reader to a poster... but until you do that you can't experience all of the wonderful benefits that being a member of DS can bring... so taking that step opens up a whole new world for you all.
So many people become isolated because of chronic pain... you may lose the freedom to do all the activities you once enjoyed, or you may even find it hard to leave home... you may find yourself unable to be the same happy optimistic person you were before being struck down by cp... and then so many of us find that most, if not all, of our friends fall by the wayside because they simply cannot cope with those changes in us or the fact that we aren't as much "fun" as we used to be.
But here in the DS cp group we understand all of that, we've been through it and/or are dealing with it currently... and we all know how hard simply getting through from day to day can be when you have the burden of chronic pain. We know how hard it is to deal with having our lives and the all the pleasure we used to have literally stolen away.
I hope all the new faces will stay and become active here. I hope you will post on the board if you are having any difficulties because of your pain or you're struggling to cope or if you have questions to ask or need some advice or reassurance.
Most of all I hope you will reach out to the members here if you are in need of comfort or support... because when you do that you will find there are many people here who are ready and willing to give any help they can. DS is full of caring, knowledgable and empathetic people who understand what you are going through and who will offer to help whenever you are in need.
So reach out to us new people, and before you know it you'll have a whole lot of DS friends caring about you and sending you hugs... and you'll be wondering how you ever managed without them.

Sending out gentle hugs and warm smiles for all the cpers, old and new members alike... along with wishes for a minimal pain day.
Take care... Gaye... xxx
Today has been cold (around 50' and will be the same tomorrow) with rain on and off all day...... Still it is coming into winter here.
I seem to have finally adjusted to the Tramadol and feel a lot better too. The side effects have 95% gone now so that is good. It was like being drunk all the time - not a nice feeling at all.
At the moment the rain and wind have stopped and I am listening to the frogs as they sing their little songs to say how much they are enjoying the cold wet weather.
Have a great day everyone and hope that at least some if not all of you can get some relief from your pain.
Gentle hugs, Marg
I pray for them every day and I will certainly pray for you Vicky, and your family.
David.
So God brought cold and rain back after almost of month of unseasonably warm temperatures. So I did not over extend myself.
Today I had my infusion for Rituxan, which only took 5 hours. My hand is hurting, i keep reminding myself I don't have to worry, I can move my hand without ripping out the IV, and the pain of the IV spot is going to make me feel good and suppress RA for 5 or 6 months again.
Thanks David for this post.
