Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

This is Trish Tolamania from trichworld if you don't know (yes, I wrote the alias trying to be funny).
I had one pull free streak last November/December, the longest one I remember having ever. Checking in with this community was such a huge help, in order to achieve that. In February I started pulling again and, after a few lame attempts to slow it down, I gave up altogether and just started pulling again at will.
Now it's July 1, I am 3 days pull free and I just want to take it DAY BY DAY and get involved in this community again! I hadn't logged in for so long, when I did log in last week, I started crying hysterically. Isn't that funny?
My main goal right now is to reach 7 days pull free, then buy myself some really expensive hair product as a reward. But I know my main reward for stopping will just be FEELING GOOD AND NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT IT SO MUCH!

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

So let's go, Day 5!
Congratulations on your accomplishments!!!!!
Great job :)
But...... things have gone downhill again.
pulled out a lot of hair today. URRRRRRRGH! Well, I had a 6-day streak of pull free days?
Need to pick myself up and try again tomorrow. It's truly a battle THAT NEVER ENDS!!!
Now I just need to make it to 4.30 pm
I can make it through 3.5 hours without my hands touching my head, RIGHT?
The original meaning of leisure, on the other hand, implied that it was time for freedom, contemplation, choice, and was not structured, purposeful, or even constructive.
Though leisure time may be truly "free time" only when it remains unscheduled, it is not the same as mere resting or idleness. Leisure is something positive. It's time when you can discover yourself, when you can make your biggest commitment to life and get your greatest enjoyment and satisfaction. So what I'm trying to say here is that we have a choice to make our leisure time more productive in a project we enjoy rather than focusing on our emotions and frustrations and pulling sprees. We have the power to make our idle time more focused on what we really want example: Painting, Drawing, Knitting, spend some quality time with a friend or family member, Hiking, etc...Doing things that fulfill you will take your mind off the times of boredom or restlessness.
Be kind to yourself...Hugs.
Hope you're doing well Trish! How did the rest of the day go?
Pheew got through the day only pulling out 18 hairs which I consider a VICTORY. Usually when I pull 1 hair it just turns into an endless pulling spree but this one I was able to STOP. So, good job me!
Tomorrow I will focus on pressing my palms together and/or clenching my fists and feeling the sensation of my finger bones every time I feel the urge to pull.
I think tomorrow I will do ok!
Nabby that's a great post and it's something I've been focusing on lately, what a great coincidence.
Getting down to only 18 hairs is a big victory! Being minimally PF is great compared to having pulling sprees.
Pull free today! YAAAY! Day 1!
Didn't do any of the important tasks on my to-do list but hey maybe I will get up early (and I mean like EARLY EARLY) and start cracking.
Data time!
Pull free for 20 out of the last 36 days. Not bad! Not bad at all!!
Success rate of 56%.
About 1,425 hairs total pulled out (this is the only number I DON'T LIKE, but I prefer to be aware than just mindlessly pulling).
Hairs saved if I was pulling at least 150 hairs a day on average: 3,000 hairs!
So that's my data breakdown, ha ha ha.
Tomorrow I will also try to stay pull free. If I can get a lot of stuff done on my to-do list I will feel MUCH less stressed out. URRRRRRGH the to-do list never ends!
