Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Life is ugh right now. Spending way more time waitressing than designing, I wouldn't be doing this if I wasn't saving for my trip. When we get back from europe i will be getting a full time job, will be LOVELY. My boyfriend is finishing uni, 5 weeks to go! I've gotten used to spending minimal time with him at the moment. So when we get back and can move into a place together. This will also he LOVELY.
Sorry if this post was convoluted, writing on my phone...

May as well give it a go! Like I said, I'm reluctant to. I need legumes!! But cutting out sugar and caffeine is a great way to start.
Thanks mid, I'm sure it will seem like it went fast when it's over!! Ha that's always the way. I will keep it up I will I will! I have control over my actions, I don't need to pull. I believe this truly.

i have just eaten some choco clusters though and don't think i am getting more urges.....
I do sometimes think there is a yeast connection though as I am very prone to thrush (after getting it in the mouth when I was a kid) ick so I eat natural yoghurt to help that - which is the most effective thing I have done. I also love dry red wine and lots of food with garlic in so hey!! I had read about the diet before but tb it seemed a bit too much like hard work - so I just try to be healthy :D
I used to get thrush a lot too but found out that was from being on antibiotics a lot, that was when I wasn't monitoring my urges so don't know if there was a connection, bummer! I love red wine and garliccy foods also, so lets drink and eat up!!
I love my caffeine and tomatoes, though.
Best wishes to both of you with your continued success!
Here is to red wine and garlic!
