  So 3 weeks ago, things came to a head between me and my husband. Ultimately, he quit drinking with medication and has not slipped. However we have reached this uncomfortable situation. He us sober, I should be happy. But he is not getting help, he is taking meds the doctor gave him. I am concerned that if this is all he does he will fail and we will be right back to where we were. Additionally I have a lot of fear and anger about his behavior for the past 20 years and the hurtful things he said...

  My husband and I got into a fight this past Friday about his drinking. It took him less than 5 seconds to choose the beer. Stated, immediately he would not quit drinking. I heard them all, "You knew I drank when you married me" , "You could have it worse" " I go to work every day"  and on and on. This was my fault, I was destroying our family, if I can't accept his drinking we are done. So I told him to go. I told him I loved him, but he needed to stop. He left that night.   Here I sit while my husband is outside mowing the lawn. Between work and a recent argument we have not spoken more than a few words in 2 days. He is my husband, the man I have loved for close to 20 years, father of my child, and I can't connect with him. Every time I see him crack a beer I get irritated. He is not abusive, but does get angry easily, and I notice he has little tolerance for misbehavior from our daughter, often getting more angry than seems necessary. Is this related to drinking,...

  I am new to this group. I am confused as to whether or not I have a reason to be concerned. I have been married to my husband for 15 years, together nearly 20. He has always drank, and before we were married he dabbled in other substances, which he stopped, for the most part. He is a good guy, holds steady job without a problem, not abusive. He drinks 6-12 beers a day (after work), most nights he will have a shot or 2 as well, weekends he usually cracks his 1st beer between 10am and noon and...
