A forum of healing and help for wives of alcoholics.
Here I sit while my husband is outside mowing the lawn. Between work and a recent argument we have not spoken more than a few words in 2 days. He is my husband, the man I have loved for close to 20 years, father of my child, and I can't connect with him. Every time I see him crack a beer I get irritated. He is not abusive, but does get angry easily, and I notice he has little tolerance for misbehavior from our daughter, often getting more angry than seems necessary. Is this related to drinking, he is not drunk, or normal frustration? I think of leaving but then question disrupting my daughter's life and ending 20 years without a reason. He is a good husband and father one minute and passed out in the chair the next. Do all relationships go like this? Hesitate to talk to friends or family for fear of making too much out of things, or starting a problem with people who know him. Just going a bit crazy, sad most of the time, because I feel thus way, mad because I feel this way. Sorry for rant, and rhetorical questions, just had to vent. Thank you all
