- Hi, are there very many of you here who are adults diagnosed with Autism? We are just now learning that my son, 21, is within the Autism Spectrum and is being diagnosed with PDD NOS.
- Well, I guess having a husband with ALZ isn't enough for me......yesterday we were told that my son has PDD-NOS, which is Pervasive Development Disorder, a type of Autism. He is 21 and I have always thought he was a bit odd but EVERYONE blew me off....
- We haven't heard from his family since the fiasco before Christmas, not a word. I find that I am relieved not disappointed. Kind of funny all that fuss about 'how much we love him' but when push comes to shove they disappear.
- After yesterday I realized that my husband's problem was with too much clothing so I think I am going to skip his underwear. I had switched him from pants with zippers to sweat pants because he would fumble with or forget the zipper. Now I will just...
- Well, today was the first time that I had to take him in to the ladies room with me. He went in to the Men's but came out quickly and said there was something wrong with his pants. So in the Ladies Room I realized what he was doing, he was pulling...
- We met with my husband's doctor (psychiatrist), nothing new, he just wants to check in with him every 6 months. We both like him, he is a kind and caring kind of doctor. He usually talks with my husband first and then with me. He seemed concerned...
- I was thinking about quality of life....what exactly does that mean. I'm sure it means different things to different people. I thought it might be good if we all shared what we think 'quality of life' means to each of us.I think quality of life is...
- AH HA! I caught my husband peeing in the hallway, red handed! He said, "I forgot. I haven't done that in a long time." Yea, right, almost everyday.
- I hope you don't need this information, but in case you do, here it is,As a wife and caregiver to your husband you have the RIGHT to limit contact with people who cause him stress, including family members, you have the RIGHT to prohibit alcohol...
- I have been feeling really depressed lately and I don't think the Prozac is working anymore. My daughter and my mom advised to go see my doctor. They think I may have been on it too long and I may need a change. I have an appointment on Friday. I...
- This morning my husband leaned over in bed, looked me in the eye and said, "I want to have sex with you but I've forgotten your name." LOL How romantic. My daughter said I should have done it, kind of like have a mystery romance. Uh, no, I like the...
- Lately my husband has been asking for beer. He used to be a drinker and had stopped drinking completely before he got sick. I do NOT want to be around my husband AT ALL if he has had something to drink- very mean. I tell him no, he can't because of...
- I home from being at my mom's since last Wednesday. It was a nice Christmas after all. Being at my mom's gave me a chance to really be far away from his family. His kids didn't even call him on Christmas (yes, they knew where we were and they know...
- How's everyone else doing, I am feeling pretty down and not looking forward to Christmas this year. We're going to just have us with the kids at my mom's so it will be quiet and peaceful but I'm just not into it. I understand why I am feeling this...
- my step daughter sent me an email saying she was going to send her dad a gift and I replied, that's nice and did she mind if I asked her if she was uncomfortable about her dad's illness, is that why she didn't come see him.and her answer was, "I'm...
