  Haven't posted anything in a while so I just wanted to give a quick update. I'm doing well. I'm almost completely past the anxiety in crowds so it isn't a struggle to convince myself to go out anymore. Without that obstacle, I've been making progress on feeling more comfortable approaching people. Still some anxiety there, but it's only a matter of time.

  This will probably be a short one. I've been working on building up a better foundation of positive social experiences for a while now. Taking every opportunity I can find to go out with friends or groups on Meetup. I think I hit a tipping point over the weekend. Anticipation of a social event used to just spiral into this deep feeling of dread that I had to push through to do anything.   So, that fantastic mood I was in after I got depressed a few months ago... I got it back. And I'm calmer this time around because I know how I did it.   I've spent the last few days trying to identify my emotions and avoid dissociating. I think I went too far and now I feel pretty depressed. I went to bed early last night thinking I would feel better in the morning. That didn't work. I ended up calling out of work today to take some time for myself and try to get my thoughts sorted out.   It seems recognizing that intense feeling of dissociation I mentioned in my last journal has had some other effects. One of the other symptoms I've been dealing with is emotional flatness. I figured it had something to do with dissociation when I was looking into it before, but I just felt it happen. That same feeling, but much more subtle.   I should probably write about this a bit. Dissociation. Everyone dissociates to some extent so because everyone can relate to it, it never clicked that it might be a symptom. Apparently I dissociate a lot, and very easily. I'm doing it right now while I write this, just getting absorbed in thought and tuning everything else out.
