Tipping point
This will probably be a short one. I've been working on building up a better foundation of positive social experiences for a while now. Taking every opportunity I can find to go out with friends or groups on Meetup. I think I hit a tipping point over the weekend. Anticipation of a social event used to just spiral into this deep feeling of dread that I had to push through to do anything. At least for the moment, I've managed to change the direction of that spiral and I can use the positive experiences I have to turn it into excitement. I've been able to do that before with smaller things. This one has taken some work, though. I still have to put it to the test and see if it holds up past anticipation. I'm feeling good about it. The strangest thing about this is that the physical effects haven't changed even though the feeling has. I still get the same tightness in my chest that I always associated with anxiety, but it feels like its pushing me forward instead of holding me back. I expected to stop feeling that once I turned this around. I wasn't expecting it to start feeling good.

Here's to you! Way to go! Make it work for you!
I know, JustMatt94, I get those same physical sensations before any social event, too, no matter how many times the event has gone on to prove the pre-event physical stuff was unfounded. Glad you go forward anyway like I do.
