  Yesterday, I went to work after getting blackout drunk at a bar. Instead of a fun work activity where I get to dress in our company mascot and walk people around the building, I made an ass of myself. Decided I want to be sober, for good. No more back and forth, thinking I can take one drink. But today, I'm worried I may lose my job. My bills aren't going to stop coming. It was hard enough finding this job.   Day one....tomorrow. I had a great day planned at work. I was going in to be our costumed mascot. So what do I do? I leave my place early and go to a bar. Get smashed. Then go to work and have more alcohol at the bar in the building. I can barely stand up and they send me home. So, I'm not really sure what to expect when I go to work Friday. I'm a moron and I continue to ruin everything because I can't just stop drinking.

  Why can't I just quit? I don't drink constantly. But when I do, I binge. I binge and blackout. Blacking out used to be a seldom occurrence. Now its almost guaranteed. I have one drink, then I'm either coming out of a blackout outside somewhere or in the shower at home. In my head, I think I'm going to have fun. I'll buy someone a round, chit chat for a bit, and it'll be relaxing. But nope. I always end up blacking out, messaging people who know exactly why I'm messaging them randomly at 4 in...

  I've never been a normal drinker. And I'm an alcoholic with an addictive personality. I can go months without a drink. So, I can stop drinking for X amount of time. But if I allow myself the thought of "I ate plenty and I've been drinking water, so a couple drinks won't hurt", my night eventually just becomes about drinking and whatever activity was planned is ruined because I now only want to keep drinking and any semblance of a budget goes out the window.   I had 3 weeks of sobriety until last night. I had quit my job at a restaurant, because it was killing my body and my mental state was constantly cranky and frustrated. You know when you are working a job you hate because its all you think you are worthy of?
