Yesterday, I went to work after getting blackout drunk at a bar. Instead of a fun work activity where I get to dress in our company mascot and walk people around the building, I made an ass of myself. Decided I want to be sober, for good. No more back and forth, thinking I can take one drink. But today, I'm worried I may lose my job. My bills aren't going to stop coming. It was hard enough finding this job. I've looked up on many occasions how many of sleeping pills to not wake up again. I know it would hurt my family and friends. But, I am a time bomb and I just keep making everything worse. I really enjoy my life. But the stress of life, is just getting to hard to take. I know I'm not even strong enough to actually do it, but I think about it often. More than any normal, functioning person should. But who do I tell? My family? Friends? Co Workers? No one would understand.
If you have a couple of friends at the company you could consider a slight apology but otherwise perhaps work a little harder and one assumes it won't be a problem. And if alcohol is hard then thinking about stopping makes sense.
