  My AH and I bought a fixer upper in 2008. Mind you, we now have no money to fix things and the house needs a roof, landscaping, heating and cooling, electrical, windows, siding- hell, it needs everything. It has caused an otherwise strained relationship to further become impossible. It causes me such anxiety. I used to want to fix it. I don't have that problem any more. And we just argue about it.   I am so glad to have found this group. Every single post that I have read shows me I am not alone. There is a place to go to and vent. How sad and immensely heartbreaking. We have common ground. And the ground under me is crumbling. i am so far passed trying to fix him. I have cried myself to sleep far too many nights and watched my children suffer the same effects I did as a child.   Girls are home from school and I've come home from work to find him hatefull as ever. He's got a family and does nothing but emotionally crush everyone within earshot of him. I swear as God is my witness, he should be alone. It will i believe be the start of him seeking help, or die.

  I have been married now for 23 years. 23 years with a functioning alcoholic. I have been verbally and emotionally abused forever. My father, and now him. He drinks everyday. He goes to work and drinks until he falls asleep. And he binges when he's laid off. For example today I come home from work and 5 minutes in the yelki g begins, not even a hello. I want so much to leave him. My children are over the age of 18 and it's time. It's painful living with him. Every night I fall asleep...
