  So I am happily on MTX when I encounter a massive flair (prob due to a very sudden change in weather) when I realized I don’t have any way of counter acting it. I can’t take prednisone, and because of past experiences I have opted out of topical steroidal creams. I can’t take blood thinners witch is everything else in the world and I can’t take analgesic because it will make the medication not work as well….. is my only option a warm blanket and a cup of tea?I am feeling very hopeless...

  So i live in sunny San Diego and the day before yesterday i got flair. The largest, longest one i have ever had that almost forced my boyfriend to take me to the ER. The next day of course it rained, but even now today i am still out of work because of the pain. Weird part is... i have almost no swelling. it feels like i am trying to walk on sprained ankles and poor coffee with a broken hand, but there is pretty much no swelling. I though a main part of RA was visible swelling?   This sounds like such a stupid question, but how much support do you expect from your partner? I have not felt well ( just switched to MTX injections for a hopeful improvement) and I feel like all that stress is coming out in my relationship. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years.   Something new I have noticed is that my fingers are starting to curl when I am having flairs. Like I have raptor hands; like i could be in a Jurasic Park movie. It’s kinda a pain in the ass when I am trying to be productive. Does anyone else have this problem, or rather have a solution around it? I have a family member who has RA but she has very little problems with her hands. Does it really only happen with people whos RA is more directed at their hands?
