Celiac Disease Support Group
Celiac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the digestive system that occurs in genetically-predisposed individuals. It is characterised by damage or flattening to all or part of the villi lining the small intestine, which interferes with the absorption of nutrients. This damage is caused by eating anything with gluten (gliadin), a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley...

I too have Celiac diagnosed via blood and scope (April 2017 will be 7 years for me) and recently diagnosed RA. Your post made me stop and realize how far I've come with Celiac, things do get easier. I am always discovering new foods that I CAN eat and focusing on that rather than what I can't.
Thank You.

Also, I went to the rheumatologist and seems I might have RA because of a positive CCP and mild joint pain.
Is there a correlation between celiac disease and RA?
I'm such a bread lover. LOL. it is depressing not to be able to eat what I used to be able to. Now I find myself consumed with those thoughts all day long.
With all of this new info, I feel somewhat hopeless since I'm reading that some people have followed a strict gf diet and still have symptoms due to leaky gut? Has that happened to anyone here?
