Of course work is a challenge after this surgery. Even the littlest thing, my body doesn't like. I see my PM Thursday, and the surgeon Friday. We'll talk about my situation.
All in all things are good, I just need to be careful.
I am glad to see everyone posting here. You all mean so much to me, and it's nice to have a save place here.
Hugs to all,
David
Wow, was typing and all my stuff just went poof! Oh well, we're in the middle of a massive heat wave, I think today makes 33 or 34 days of straight 100 or more and so far this year we've had 46 or so days of 100+. Totally nuts and no rain since I can't remember when. Anybody that wants to send some rain down Texas way we'd all be much appreciative.
Work has been crazy lately, guess I shouldn't complain, at least I have a job. My boss has been on the road alot lately so we've been doing things remotely. I guess that's not too big of a change since I support folks that are all over the country, we're used to doing stuff remotely. Keeps things interesting to say the least. Some days seems like all we do is teleconference.
Hope everyone is having a good evening, chat with you later. Elf
11 I'm always ass backwards! I so needed this dress to wear to the recital too!
Manny I hope your dr gets down to business and blasts those kidney stones once and for all! Don't forget to drink lots of water my dear.
Cinnamon I wish you could have seen the little dancers they were so cute! They were getting instructions from there director backstage and they all were out of sync and to me it just made it more special.
I still say the paramedics pay!!!!
Ducky Thank you my friend! I don't know why I find it so hard to spend money on myself! It's like pulling teeth to me. We do require clothing or we go to jail! LOL! Jim enjoyed the tiny dancers as much as I did. I'm proud of you too! You got out of the house and got a pedicure!! You are getting things done! File that appeal-take that first step and the fight is on!
Elf I'm glad you have time to spend here with us. I've really missed you bunches! I think you just need to set aside some time for us and hubby can just understand! LOL!
I didn't know you lived in Texas. I wouldn't blame you if you ran away! It's been miserable here, but there from what I've seen it's breaking the 100's every day. I couldn't handle that at all.
Many Hugs to all my Roomies,
Toni
It's gonna be a hot'n. Getting ready to go to work.
I'm getting adjusted to the SCS. I had to turn it off yesterday for a bit and I forgot to turn it back on. I was feeling a different kind of pain and...........duh. So I turned it back on, after being off for two hours. It's working great on the nerve pain, but the muscle pain is obviously still an issue. My wife said I need to talk to the doc about giving me a pill to make me happier when I come home. I must admit, the fatigue does a number on me after working all day.
Well enough about me. I hope you all have a low pain day. I watch this post at work on my phone and it helps me get through the day.
Let's see some more folks posting, it's good for us to share our experiences.
Hugs,
David.
Just waiting to go to the doctors glad I showered yesterday as I am not going through with it today going to have to do what they call lady of the night bath and just put on some perfume for the day as my pain is high and my leg is killing me and it is going numb which you would think it would be good cant feel the pain but I still can.
I am going stir crazy just sitting around and I hate TV when it is my first love but now just sick of it. I want to get back to normal what ever that is. I have not made a home cooked meal since last Wednesday and that came after not cooking for four days, you would think you cant get sick of take out food but you can if you have it enough and I am sick of them screwing up my orders and the cost of it. Plus they always put to much salt in it and my BP is high not making things any better the doctor is going to have a fit with me today.
Hope you all have a great day
I am very happy for you and I think it is funny that a lot of us here do have a hard time being kind to ourselves. I am going to call you later..LOVES!
@Dave
So my friend...here is my thought from one long term vicodin user to another...GIVE THEM UP! Honey, if Hydrocodone were going to work for you...they would be working for you. Your body is used to them AND your pain is more than they can handle. Please do yourself a favor and talk to your doc about using something different....and, if you don't have it already--please add a muscle relaxer to your daily diet. They really do help.
@Manny...there is a great invention, it is called a crock pot.
Add a large can of mushroom soup--only dilute it by 1/2 with water. Add an envelope (you can add 1/2 of the envelope, add what you like depending on tastes) of onion soup mix.
Stir the water, onion soup mix and mushroom soup together in your crock pot.
Add a pack of pork chops--any kind--cover with the mushroom soup mix.
Start your crock pot on a 6 or 8 hour setting--your choice
In the last hour before your chops are ready, make a pot of rice. If you want...you can also add some frozen peas to your crock pot in the last hour as well.
Pour your cooked rice on a serving plate, pull the cooked pork (It will fall off the bone and break into chunks. Let it break off into chunks as you place it over the rice) Using a gravy ladle...spoon some of the gravy over the pork and rice to your satisfaction.
This recipe keeps for a week in the fridge covered and is very filling...is great for a family and can be reduced for a single person to make a few meals just by adjusting the amount of rice/number of chops.
I hope this helps keep you away from screwed up orders.

ME>>>Off to my counseling this morning and then later, I have to take my little duck to her mental health treatment. It is supposed to be up in the high 80's again and that sucks. I will be the little duckie flower underneath the hose on the porch again. I am going to finish filing my appeal for social security. I did talk to my employers yesterday and several of the supervisors have agreed to write letters on my behalf about how they felt my issues affected my ability to preform my job.
Anyway....
HUGS to all and I am going to see if I can get a hold of Tipper. ALSO>>>>>Anyone heard from Minnieha?? I am worried about her and I have not seen/heard from her. If anyone has heard from her, please please let me know.
QUACK!
@ Duckie, That recipe sounds delicious and I think I have everything here included the pork chop PLLUS some home dried Shitake mushrooms I picked up at the Farmers Market. Going to go check out the freezer right now!!
So not sure if she has connection for DS. I wish we would hear from her though. I am worried. SD i am glad you are checking on Tipper. Hope you can bring us a message.
Manny I hope today is the day you get some answers. Your story of the spider shows how bad in pain you are
and I don't like it one bit. Get someone, like the niece, to pull out the crockpot and do do Duckie's recipe.
This will be good for you and niece. The best almost like homemade mashed potatoes are Bob Evans brand if you can find them. I think our Walmart carries them.
David I am so with Duckie on your med thing as well. I hope the Vicodin is Norco with less tylenol. You would be surprised at how much a muscle relaxant might help. Of course you are in your body and know what is best. I didn't realize you were already back to full days my friend. No wonder you are hurting. If you are reading this please know I am saying a prayer for you right now. Can't hurt and I know God loves ya.
So do we.
Nealy I am cheering you to the finish line with your treatment. Need a party for this one!
#11 what can I say except have a great day. Take your cheerleaders outfit off and let us know how you are feeling. Hugs
Toni hope you and Jim have recovered from the outing. Keep spending some money on you. You deserve it.
It is almost time to get a pair of jeans and sweater. I like to think of fall coming.
Super fluffy one I am getting pork tenderloin out of freezer right now. Crockpot as well. Thinking of you at your appointments. That and your pretty toes! What color did you get?
My shingles seem to be maybe drying up. They are more defined and not one big patch of red. Looked on Shingles board and one person on there actually looked at hers twice a day with a magnifying glass.
Hmmmmm. Haven't been back there but guess it is a good support system, especially for those who keep
the nerve pain.
Love Peace and Air Hugs
Can you OD on blueberries? I might.
Hugs,
Cherry
@ ducky: Ughh, have to go to the store. Didn't have anything but a huge pork roast. Gotta go out Thursday so I'll stop at the store.
@Hippy: party sounds good. Watch out, I may go wild!! I'll dust off my best Lampshade. LOL I've never had shingles but from what I hear, they're terrible. Hope they clear up very soon. I'm going to try the bannana doggie treats after I go to store too.
I am happy to see you all here. I hope you are doing as well as possible. I think it's great that we are keeping this thread going.
How about some folks who usually jusy look or read, just jump in and say hello.
Ya'll have a great night.
Hugs,
David.
I am sending a message to Minnieha...if anyone has heard anything---please let us know that she is ok or ??
@11LY
You know...I did not get my feet done yesterday...BUT, I did buy some starter materials to begin beading which I have been wanting to do. I will get my feet done next week when my retirement comes in. My family and I were doing a little outing yesterday and I ended up at a bead shop---where I fell in love with every single bead there and all the demonstrated crafts that were hanging. Soooo, my pretty feet will now be pretty beaded something or others...and my feet will hold on to the last pedicure I had done for another week or two.
HUGS to you all!
