I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting back.
Walking greatly improves my mental health too. I'm feeling less irritable and depressed after walking.
I want this to be a support thread for people who exercise and eat healthy so if you do any of that post here!

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Today was one of those days. It was a rainy day and I am nursing a gall bladder patient. Been putting extra dips and turns into the chores, just to get my exercise. To the beat of the music, of course.
There's such a beautiful simple freedom in taking a walk. I always kinda sorta knew it as a kid, when I'd hike for hours a day in the hills, just me and my dog. But now? Having had to re-learn to walk, I am grateful for every step.
Maybe not some ofthose physiotherapy stretches, LOL, but I do 'em.
Body-mind-heart-soul----it's all connected. Nurse one, you nurse them all, IMO.
Rock on, Rizen!
I have a major sweet tooth too, but I have to maintain a very strict diet to manage my neurological disorder. I've found healthy alternatives that satisfy my sweet tooth, without making me feel guilty. My favorite is cooked sweet plantains with drizzled raw honey. I also love low-fat Greek yogurt with fresh organic berries, whole wheat toast with low-sodium natural peanut butter with sliced apples or bananas, another favorite of mine is chocolate avocado pudding (might sound kinda odd, but it's an awesome paleo treat).
I try to walk everyday. I do a fitness jar to encourage myself. I put $3 in the jar for every 30 minute work out. At the end of the month I take the money out and buy myself something as a reward. It's a nice visual aid as well because throughout the month when I see the jar more full of money, I feel motivated to keep pushing myself and I get excited thinking about how I'm going to treat myself.
PS I don't have sweet stuff here but managed to make some frosting and eat it anyway :/. Not too much though. I usually eat healthy aside from my sweet tooth. I figure it's better than self medicating/drinking.
Instead, I vowed to just be more physical - moving around more, being less sloth-like. And I've been good with that.
Also eating 1 meal a day that is just veggies and making meat a side-dish instead of the main event. That's going well.
I need to get back to the walking though so thanks for this post - and for the replies. Helping to motivate me.
It's a free program and she's got such great tips. I had tried everything to get past my sweet tooth and this program is what finally worked.
I went for another mile walk with my arm weights. I was watching Starwars Revenge of the Sith online for the first time and had to pause it halfway and go for a walk so i didn't get over-derped.
I also walk the dogs, each separately. Handling all three at once is a bit difficult.
Give yourself a big hug! Keep up the great work and thanks for posting about what is working so well for you. It is a nice positive post.
