Leah- how are you doing? Any news? I'm praying for healthy embryos and a flawless implant!
Kdeezy how are you doing? What day are you on? How have your blood/ultras been going?
I go back tomorrow for blood/ultra so we shall see!
I'm having minimal discomfort. Mostly gas/peristalsis. They didn't prescribe me anything good... So just taking Tylenol and had a few Norco left after my lap. No vaginal bleeding, but had a scare tonight with some blood in my poo (sorry it's gross...) So, trying to decide if I should page doc on call or just wait until tomorrow to let them know. Because I'm a nurse, I feel like I don't call as much as I think I should.
I'm feeling pretty freaking miserable about not having any embryos to freeze. It's just one more blow to my womanhood. Trying to be at peace with what has happened and happy with the fact that there were two embryos that did make it. I guess we'll save a lot of $$ by not having to pay cryogenic fees!!
I'm glad I have my husband here for support. My mom was here earlier when I got the bad news. She was so bad at consoling me it was sad. She kept saying that alls I have to do is give up and I'll get a miracle baby. Even without IVF..... No matter how much I tell her just how bad it is she isn't getting it. I mean, really?? Consoling me by saying to give up and I'll get pregnant naturally?!?!? GAH. I think my MIL would have even done a better job!!!
In other news, had a horrifying dream during a nap today that when my husband put my Progesterone injection in that we noticed my ass was COVERED in thick black hair. Just covered. It was horrifying but also funny. I remember saying to him in the dream "it must be because the progesterone is a mostly male hormone, I hope this doesn't last forever" and remember his face to be horrified. Lol.
When's your next ultrasound?? You're almost there too!!! I hope and pray your office will give you more medicine for the conscious sedation than mine did. It was un-fun but quick at least.
Big day tomorrow, going to bed early (: hugs to you all!!
Anyway they initially gave me the wrong transfer date. It will be the 18th, not 17th. Fine with me - it's easier to miss a Tuesday at work than a Monday.
Katie, I'm excited to hear how your us went! I also stimmed for 11 days, I think that's pretty normal.
Leah, I know you're bummed about not having any to freeze but if these two stick that'll be the very last thing on your mind for a while. Positive thoughts!
Barefeet, welcome to the party!
Kdeezy, congrats on the good results! Compared to the fresh cycle is this one a breeze? I'm so happy your date got figured out, I hate all of the not knowing. Nurse said now prob closer to 12-14 days :( hopefully it will all be worth it though! Have a great weekend
Other than that, the transfer was just as easy as an IUI, except they used a ultrasound external to help guide.
Before they transfers the embryos they explained that they don't know why all the others didn't make it, but that the two we were able to transfer were "grade A" or the best. So we are very thankful for that.
Then they gave us a picture of the embryos and I proceeded to cry like a baby. Literally, a baby. Possibly a combination of the hormones, the Valium and just literally being so happy to see the first pictures of the biggest hope we have had for a long time.
So now I'm on strict bed rest for 24 hours, then modified bed rest tomorrow. Then no heavy lifting for a few days and taking it easy.
So I had some EMLA cream from work that I use to numb my butt. I've been making the mistake of having him inject a little too high though.
But I put the vial in hot water until my cream makes my bum numb. I draw it up and then switch needles to a 25 1/2 gauge x 1 1/2". I had to buy extra needles that are the 25 1/2 gauge because the RE only prescribed the 22 1/2 gauge ones. As long as they are long enough they will get in the muscle. It just takes longer to push the serum in, but it hurts a lot less!!!!
The RE office didn't want to prescribe me the EMLA cream but I made them. Cause that's how I work. Lol. So, I'll have extra for when the one I had from work runs out.
The endometrial scratch went surprisingly well! Just like a quick IUI. I'm glad I had it done, it want painful, they didn't do a biopsy or anything so that must be why it didn't hurt so bad. They just injected the HCG and moved the injector thing around a few times.
And I'm so sorry about the follicles. I hope you produce more viable ones than I did!!!! I don't want you to have to go through such disappointment too.
Only another week for you!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy to hear that they were grade A! And I'm so fascinated by the fact that some docs require bed rest and others recommend against it. Mine told me to just go about my day as normal, so I just took it easy. Maybe I'll take it easier this time.
I hope those little guys stick!!!
Brad (my husband) couldn't believe I could go through the retrieval fine and then be such a whiner about peeing. Lol. Guess I have to have a funny story about something!
It is weird how every doc is different! He told me that they used to recommend at least 2 days of strict bed rest, but require only one now.
I'd stay in this bed for 9 months if I had to... Just like that lazy grandpa on Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! Lol
Great tips about the PIO, I actually read about the cream in another board so I think I'm gonna get some at the drug store, or I'll ask, but I have a feeling they will say no! Also glad the scratching wasn't too bad! Gives me hope. So I see you had hcg injected in too, is that right? Did you have it before transfer or just the day of scratching? I'm so excited, happy, and anxious to hear how you are feeling! Good luck!!
I POAS before my last beta and it was negative...I think I was 5dp5dt. Then the next day I started to bleed so I knew it was over - they moved my beta up to the next day and sure as shit it was a BFN. I'm torn on whether or not to test ahead this time. If I don't I'm taking beta day off from work because regardless of the outcome, I'll be crying like a baby.
I'm at home, just resting in bed now.
Turns out I spent as much on the EMLA cream at the pharmacy as I would have at eBay. Check there first (:
I POAS for each IUI and they were faint positive eah time and ended up getting AF shortly thereafter.
I'm going to make my husband hide the pregnancy tests and just do the blood test (scheduled for 2/18). I can't take the disappointment again that way.
I took the HcG trigger and then they take more HCG on the day of the scratch and put it directly in the uterus.
Katie- are you feeling full yet?? My belly felt so full around the time you are at!!
I love that the cycles in this group are so close together :0) because cyber belly buddies would be fun and the common ground being some form of fertility help FET, IVF etc...
I am going in the same week as KDeezy, one day apart :0) Right now I am trying not to rib my belly flab off from all the itchyness from the alora patches... Does anyone have any suggestions to keep the ichy down to a minimun?? I would try cocoa butter or an aloe based lotion but I am giving myself shots in my gut and so the shot area needs to be clean. Whats the trick to this ladies?
Can you use lido/EMLA cream too?? Or what about a hydrocortisone cream? And just make sure you alcohol wipe it off before you inject?? That's what I would do!!!
I bet the hydrocortisone cream would do the trick!!!
I have one more piece of knowledge to pass to you. If you're taking any Medrol or oral steroid after transfer, please, please buy some Orange Juice to take it with!
I took my last pill today (4 days worth). But for the first two days I didn't know the secret and the pills are AWFUL bitter!!! (Like taste in my mouth for 5 hours of the pill....!!)
So, OJ it up if you do!!
Leah, how are you feeling!? Glad you made it home in one piece and are resting well. I am going to bring in my questions tomorrow to my apt so I hope I can have an answer soon. Depending on how tomorrow goes we will see when we will trigger :). I have a big iep meeting Thursday so with my luck I will not be there and ill be so worried! Anyways yesterday and today I started to feel a little bloated and full with lots of twingy cramps. Just praying this is a good sign. It's not too bad though. I do usually work out a few times a week and Saturday was a bit uncomfortable, so fx that's why!
TNT welcome!
Hope you all had a good weekend
