Been consumed with work. Had another ultrasound and blood work today. Everything looks good. They'd increased my bravelle to 3 does in the evening and back for another ultrasound and blood work on Friday. If everything goes as planned, trigger shot on Monday retrieval on Wednesday.
Is it just me or has July/August moving at a snails pace!? I am ready to get these shots over with.

Okay Milkshake in the thigh wasn't bad. I actually preferred it! But...I still got a welt and a rash. Gotta talk to my nurse again in the morning :(

Lupron little needles dont bother me a bit. But a 22G 1 1/2 inch needle in the bum muscle smarts pretty good!!

Lil, my nurse thinks it's really strange too. I think tonight will be the real test. As long as the reactions aren't getting worse I think I'll be okay. Hope Joey is kind to you tonight. I think this evening's Lupron will be named Bagel with Cream Cheese!

MRS, my DH is gone for a month at a time, so he'll be gone for the retrieval BUT hopefully home for the transfer since we have to do genetic testing and it'll take a month or so. So really, I'm an August/September/October girl!

I got my meds (aka the troops!) this week and did my injection training yesterday. After waiting so long, I'm excited to get things moving!

After a few back and for the with my nurses today it seems that I am officially allergic to Lupron and can't take it anymore. They're switching me to an antagonist protocol of Ganirelix and Menopur. Have you guys taken these?? I'm freaking out so bad right now :(

KDeezy: OK. Deep breaths! I've read blogs with other people who can't take Lupron, so this must be common. Luckily there is an alternative. I'm sure there are many reasons that they choose Lupron first, but that does not mean the others won't work. (Could be cost, prescription benefits... all that stuff) They all have a job to do: keep your follicles from releasing your eggs and they do it well. I'm sure it will work out great. They may just want to monitor you a tad bit closer, but what else is new, right? :)

Hang in there. Trust that they've got your back and are rooting for you as well. Plus, no more rashes!

lilcmhos, did your meds package with another needle to use with your PIO? I have the 22.5-inch needle that draws the medicine into the syringe but switch it out for an 18.5-inch needle for injection. That's MUCH easier to stomach!

kDeezy, I've done Lupron AND Menopur AND Ganirelix for the last two cycles. Menopur is easy peasy, except when they start having you dilute it. Just make sure your nurse is VERY clear on how many tablets to use and how many dilutions to do (take notes or have it emailed to you). And make sure your prescription is for a decent amount, as your insurance might decide it wants to reject the charge because you're refilling "too soon" (in which case, you can always direct them to talk to your ovaries). I was NOT a fan of injecting the Ganirelix; the needle is tiny but doesn't like to go in easily, and the injection site stung for about an hour afterwards. However, this combination of meds proved to be effective for me. You'll totally be able to handle it :)

kDeezy: I have a friend with a similar story with the lupron and she also had to switch to Ganirelix and Menopur and her story had a very happy ending:0)
*HUG!! I'm not to go tell you not to worry because worry is what girls do best sometimes as it's part of the process I guess but, know that this isn't something highly unusual at all it is fairly normal for quite a few women to have to switch. I'm cheering you on friend!

Thank you all for calming me down. Now I'm just waiting for the nurse to call with my new instructions. I was really bummed that I didn't get to inject Bagel with Cream Cheese last night, but I guess it's better than having progressively worse reactions :( I'll keep you guys posted.

Hineschica, I doubled checked and all the needles are 22 gauge. I must have a big butt, lol!
Had more blood work and ultrasound today. Ovaries and estrogen levels are great! Go back Monday for another ultrasound and blood work. If all goes as planned, trigger shot on Monday and retrieval on Wednesday.

My timeline isn't changing! Suppression check is still scheduled for 8/14 and stims should start within 3 days after. It's funny that I'm actually SAD that I don't have any injections now! That part makes it feel more real, and more like I'm doing something. Oh well. Soon enough! I'm still predicted to have my retrieval around 8/29 :)
