Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I hope you get what you need soon, best of luck!
Hugs schlene
The little one is growing!!!!!
He is getting cuter. How do you discipline that cute ball of fur?!?!?
Bunny
@Bunny, Rocco goes for his rabies shot tomorrow, groomers (of course) Friday, and obedience training Monday. If I raise my voice and say "HEY NO" he usually knows that he's doing something wrong, but of course he'll go right back to it. I'm looking forward to the obedience training on Monday.
Hey All,
I doing pretty good today. Still got a pain in the neck, literally, but I see my PM on the 1st and we'll talk about treatment.
I hope you all are decent. Let's hear how you are feeling, good or bad. That's what we're here for.
Big Hugs,
David.
Doing horrible today. Had a meltdown on the way to work. Dreamt of a dog in my attic that was neglected and near starved to death. 17 migraines this month so far and a tough day at work ahead today.
Always pushed to the edge of endurance and unlike an athelete, there is no jubilation and celebration at the end. Just more agony and no reward.
Had a journal breakthrough last night as to the core of my anger. Don't know what to do about it but cry.
Tomorrow is a new day. Hugs to you all.
maaybe just me but miss individual threadds
I am back from a 3 day camping trip so I'm suffering a bit today. Didn't get up till 11; it was so good to sleep in my bed again. Felt like I was gone much longer. I'm not planning anything today, I'll do the bare minimum to get through the day and just relax and take it easy. I need this day to recuperate.
Hope everyone is having a good minimal pain day. Hugs and peace,
Lisa
Big welcome hugs, Lisa
It seems we all are having a tough time of late! Maybe it is the moon cycle or something? I am so sorry to hear about the difficulty everyone is having it hurts my heart. I wish I could do something tangible to help each and every one of you, but all I can do is tell you are in my constant thoughts and prayers.
Yesterday was not my best day either. I went for my MRI at a local imaging clinic. The tech was extremely nice. She was born and rasied in Hawaii and I had lived there for three years so it gave us something to talk about. Once on the conveyer connected to the MRI she attached the head restraint to keep my head still. They were scanning the growth rate of my brain tumor. So in the MRI tube I go. All is fine for about half of the test and then the frequency of the sound changed in the machine and it triggered a bad seizure. I had never seizurered inside an MRI machine before and this was a snug one. My head obviously tried to jerk free if the restraint because I am really sore today.
The poor tech had to pull me out and wait until I came around. She was absolutely composed about the whole event though as if it happened everyday. I am going to send her a thank you card.
We were able to finish the scan with dye contrast. So after my doctor returns from a well deseved vacation I will get the results.
After my excitement wit the MRI friends too me out for dinner. We had a really pleasant evening chatting and laughing.
Hugs to all, Cathy
Got a busy day today. Rocco,(who is chewing on my keyboard), goes to the vet. Then some errands.
I feel about the same, pretty good. The SCS is still functioning properly.
I hope you all have a great day.
Hugs,
David.
Well, I had a complete meltdown yesterday and spent the day sobbing uncontrollably. I called pm and got sent in 4 pills of prednisone 50mg. I feel a tiny bit better today, sure hope they help! I did something to my lower back on one side and the pain was horrible! The depression just got to be too much and I considered not living like this any more. I'm stuck though because I couldn't hurt my family like that! Oh shit, here I go crying again, I just can't shake it! I can't find a long acting med that works for me! I've tried fentenal, opana, methadone, morphine, lyrica, etc.......My BT meds help if I take double the dose the doc says so I wonder if I have always just been low dosed and I need more than the average person? I do tell my doc how much I have to take but there seems to be an invisible cap on what they will give people with invisible conditions like fibro and CMP.. I also have back problems and 1 surgery behind me so that is why I get what I do, oxyIR 15mgx6 a day. I'm going to try to talk to my doc next time I go in about this, I always see the NP who is a bitch. I LOVE my doc though, he is so sweet! The only ER meds I've heard of and haven't tried are dilaudid and suboxone but I know nothing about them.
Well, I feel better just writing it all out, thanks for listening!
Hope you all are doing better!
Hugs

Hopefully you can see the doctor instead of the NP ( which I'm not sure what this means, is it a nurse?)
Anyway, I'm glad you're talking about it, and please, don't let this take you down.
David.
My little 13 year old dog had a seizure this morning and she was calling out in pain or fear, I don't know, as she curled up and shook for a minute. I was oddly detached....... I comforted her until it was over and carried her indoors and then she seemed fine. That is twice now this year.
When I thought she was going to die, I thought, 'well thats that then". which is strange because my dogs are my world. I'm not even on drugs. I'm just .... not present?
And, NP is nurse practitioner.
Enigma, so sorry about your little dog but she is ok for now and that is good. I just lost 2 dogs and 2 cats in the past 2 years and it is so hard but I understand about feeling detached. The one that I was closest to did'nt bring out all the emotion I thought it would, I was just numb. I now have 2 new dogs and will never be without one!
Take care and big hugs
