Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
It is saturday and have to wake up early to get the computer or it is lost to my hubby for the day. I have to do some cleaning and baking today, nothing big.
My leg pain is getting better with everyday and by the time I get to the doctor for my appt it will be better, Dont you hate when that happens especially when after the appt it gets worse.
Hope everyone has a great day
Here is what I did for my dog.
Get a couple bells (christmas type things that are fully closed around the noisy part). Hang them with string on the doorknob of the door you want to use to take him out most often.
Spend at least two weeks taking him out every hour. When you walk up to the door with him, shake the bells while using the "outside" command.
If he rings the bells himself, immediately take him out with lots and lots of praise.
He should get the idea that he can tell you he needs to go out by ringing the bell.
If he needs more help understanding, sit on the floor near the bells with treats. Put the treats near the bells so when he takes them he has to ring the bell. Praise him and take him out to get the treat.
It is about you choosing a behavior to mean what you want. I did this with jumping up on my leg - which I hate. Every time he jumped, I picked him up and gave him a hug. Now if he wants a hug, he jumps up. Otherwise, he just sits.
Good luck
SunnyBunn/David - I used that bell trick to train a dog we had years ago and it really worked. Our cat even figured it out and used it and she didnt' just ring it all the time for fun either, just to get outside. It was great. Kinda like a reverse doorbell.
I'm in some pain this morning but nothing I can't handle. Went to the beach last night, was in the water then stayed around for a bonfire. I had my zero gravity chair but still was in alot of pain by the time I got home. I knew I'd pay for it today but we've had a horrible summer and yesterday was just perfect so had to take advantage of it. We might even pack up and go camping today - the whole weekend is supposed to be gorgeous.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Hugs and peace to all,
Lisa
Well, after my cleaning spree yesterday of course today I am paying a bit. Such is our lives!
David, little Rocco sounds so much like my little Moby. We actually flunked out of doggy school. I am still working on his traing though and slowly it is evolving.
Tily, I wanted to give you a high-five for doing so well in the pool yesterday. Way to go girl!!!
Everyone, our dear friend Beatle is going through a really difficult time and really needs our support right now. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. And I know she would appreciate hearing from all of her friends.
Hope you all have a pleasant weekend! Hugs, Cathy
I'm feeling pretty disconnected and down. I'm so sorry that a reply I posted has caused so much trouble. I hadn't been up for even 15 minutes when I read something that made me react like Mother Rhino. I'm not a confrontational person and I should have kept my mouth shut.
As a matter of fact, I divorced a man a couple years ago who bullied me terribly and it took a therapist about a minute of my story to decide I needed to get out...immediately! Since then he's been trying to help me find my voice again and stop isolating.
I guess it's not working very well. Please accept my sincere apology.
Extra prayers for Doreen, Millie and Beatle,
Cherry
I hope you make many new friends and tell us more about yourself!
Hugs,
Cherry

I think I'm on day 8 or something of this friggen migraine. I lost count but I have it marked at work and will gladly add this weekend to the list. I've had enough. 92 days to the Neurologist. Hope I make it.
Yesterday was a real busy day. I worked Saturday, Midnight to 4:30 AM, slept 2 hours, went to church and had church business after that, bringing me to a late lunch and then met back at church to go to the city prison and attend their church service. Walked Rocco at 9:15 PM with a flashlight and then hit the hay.....WHEW!!!!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday, but I did have a great day!! Pain is about the same. I may be a bit under-medicated, but we'll see what my PM doc thinks.
I hope y'all have a good day.
Let's keep this going. I have a similar thing going on the sub-group I'm a member of.
Big Hugs,
David.
